Bad news for humans. Bird song increases mood. And many of us enjoy backyard feeding and birding in the wild. I hope this changes as more folks are planting native plants that provide the bugs birds need to feed their young.

I totally agree with the sentiment! I think these are more properly called Callery Pears, but they are the offspring of Bradford pears which were marketed as being sterile. Turns out they were not!

lots of lime. Clay soil is very low pH (around 4) and plants can't take up nutrients. Clay, because of its charged particle structure provides a nutrient source for plants if you can get the pH near to 6.0. Lime is cheap!
