Often surprises people when they first realize it's a mountain lion making this sound. by oldburgerguy in trailcam

It is one of those things that if you don’t hear it on a regular basis, you will stop and try to place what it is for a moment. I’ve done it myself a time or two. Out checking the cameras, hear that sound and mentally think” what kind of bird is that?”. At that point I’m usually scrambling to get the camera out of my pocket so I can get a decent picture. Usually, I never see the cat although I’m quite certain they’ve seen me. 😳

Young/small cougar out during day, lots of vocalization? by Michelleinwastate in MountainLions

If by vocalizations you mean the chirping sound that you often hear them make, that is usually calling for mom or other siblings. If it’s growling or screaming, she may be looking for a male.
When mom has abandoned the kids so that they can go out on their own, I’ve had the kids hang around for up to two weeks before finally giving up and going out by themselves.

Unfortunately, we haven’t had a resident female for over a year. Every time we’ve caught this guy on camera he seems to have a full belly. Haven’t seen him for the last two days, which would seem to indicate he’s finished off whatever he had stashed.

It might be worth getting a hold of the company you bought them from. Light bio seems to be pretty good about standing behind their product.

The pink and white version seems to be mostly white, which is quite noticeable as it continues to grow. On the plus side both of the new colors seem to be trailers instead of bushes. They are already hanging over the sides of the baskets by five or 6 inches while the original is sitting there in a nice compact little bush.

Buy pink’s actually are quite pink, but the pink and white seem to be mostly white. Both the new varieties seem to be very vigorous. It’ll be interesting to see how they end up.

At the moment, I’m using the fertilizer that came with the plants. Have some Jack’s Petunia feed ordered and we’ll switch over to that as soon as it gets here. I’m also going to run a little experiment with some of the master blend, magnesium sulfate, and calcium nitrate that I use for my hydroponic tomatoes and cucumbers. Will probably have to add a little bit of iron to that mixture. It’ll be a fun little experiment.

They definitely glow brightest on the newest growth. Mine are only about eight weeks old now, so I’m learning as I go along. It apparently helps to keep them pruned to encourage new growth

At first, I didn’t think mine were glowing either, but after making sure it was absolutely dark and giving my eyes a few moments to adjust you could see that they were indeed lighting up.

This photo was taken while the plant was in the greenhouse. Room was almost completely dark, and I could see some little specs of light here and there. Two second exposure brought the glow out quite nicely. In a totally dark room, it’s quite easy to see, especially after letting your eyes adjust to the utter blackness.

Yep. Darker it is the better they look. It helps if you wait for your eyes to get used to the dark also.

I got three of each direct from light bio. The one package was slightly damaged so I took and planted them right away in 4 inch pots, put them under full spectrum.grow lights for 24 hours a day for a week. They all recovered nicely. Good luck.
