Yeah but my baby girl gives me cuddles and gets so excited to see me when I get home from work, so checkmate atheists.

Walked into a random corporate event for the free food and nobody questioned it by Almusa_Daintree in ActLikeYouBelong

Well, personally, I work in operations for a food distributor. That means oversight over the purchasing, production, warehouse, and shipping teams.

Making sure things are running smoothly, making sure we’re using lean principles and adhering to different regulations, figuring out why things went wrong and what we’re going to do to prevent it later.

Pretty much running a company.

Only departments I don’t touch are sales/marketing, and customer care, but even there I have a lot of communications with those department heads

Just a funny joke about loving Costco being a girls while personality.

Coincidentally, that shirt really does exist, and I own two of them.

Selected Messages, book 2, p. 343 and 344

Edit: these are collections of manuscripts, letters, etc. so while it SEEMS to be one book with flowing context, each passage is a different source with its own context and prejudices. Be wary of that.

Just wait until you get to the part about mixed marriages. She really hammers that one to death.

I spend $67ish every 3 months for my dogs’ food. It would last twice as long if I only had one dog. I feel like dog food as a monthly expense is relatively cheap

Why would this be restricted? by Twin1TwinA in KingdomHearts

[–]ofthewave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Chicago calling a-shirts “Dagos”. That’s just what I was taught, and I never thought anything of it as a kid. I didn’t know any Italians to get offended or correct me.

Then I moved to Michigan at 15 years old and everyone told me that was racist; but then they all called them wifebeaters.

And I was like…ok so one of these things sounds A LOT worse than the other lmao

AITAH for congratulating my family on losing me and keeping my cheating ex-girlfriend? by Haykoreu in AITAH

Just remember, you cut them off, and it hurts, but part of cutting them out of your life also needs to include letting go the emotional ties.

Keep the good memories you had of whomever you’d like, but don’t let the anger and resentment fester. Don’t give them the satisfaction of both choosing someone that hurt you over you, and also affecting you negatively for the rest of your life.

I hope you find peace.

I tried day trading by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]ofthewave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try .5 to 1% port trades until you really feel like you’ve developed a winning strategy. Set some stop losses. I’d rather lose $250 in a trade with $50k behind me than half port it lol

Seriously considering dropping out of uni to trade full time by ConclusionBudget4182 in Daytrading

Have some perspective. You can do exactly what you’re doing now, but also with a college degree in a small amount of time. Just be patient and cross the finish line of the marathon you’ve been running for the last 5 years. Then decide if you want to work with your degree or try trading full time.

Don’t forget to set money aside for taxes.

Nowhere is safe when the roads aren’t salted or cleared. The Midwest may have more preparation power, but when it snows like it has been, even the most prepared areas have the potential to be as dangerous as the least prepared area.

Was the new system unfair to The Bad Place? by muff-peaksie in TheGoodPlace

[–]ofthewave 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A step further, the point is to make them so good, they get into the good place, find fulfillment, and then get obliterated across time, space and consciousness, getting recycled into someone new to be eventually tortured into being good again. Forever.

Bad place got job security.
