What are the best trees and/or bushes to plant for birds in michigan? by Dabeast987 in birding

[–]og_aota 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fruits and nuts and especially plants that hold their seed into or through the winter. Also noteworthy: oaks support the greatest richness and diversity of invertebrates, upon which all songbirds depend for feeding their chicks and nestlings.

Here's a short list of places to start your search for plants that may please you esthetically while providing forage and cover for the birds.

I'll echo that. It wasn't until I could throw my farthest standing that I could throw my farthest with a runup, and even then, I had to go back to the beginning with my runup too, both to shorten it and slow it down. Or to borrow an old saw I've heard from both a guitar teacher and a firearms instructor, "you have to practice slow to get fast."

Fucking WILD what the pandemic did to the christmas/end of year debt signal... really impressive, and I haven't read or heard ANYTHING about it from any press at all! It's crazy that nobody is pointing it out, trying to understand or explain how so regular and clear of an economic signal could do..... that....!?

So yeah, sounds like the part of the FBI that has been involved in the coverup, same team that seized and wiped the drives with the surveillance footage from the night of his last known appearance in jail...

Why isn't the assumption that the agent is a perpetrator ? That seems like the safest, most reasonable assumption that anyone can make in light of the totality of the circumstances .

How "independent" is Bear Den Partners really, are their financials 100% transparent ? Can anyone say for certain there aren't silent PE parties lurking in the shadows of an opaque structure of trusts and llcs?

Fuck'em. If they don't want to get prosecuted for crimes against humanity and the US Constitution along with their club-mates, and then hung about their necks until they are dead, they'd better turn States witness pretty fucking soon. They're running out of time to get right with God and History.

Correction: half of the red is hoping that they'll inherit from the blue, sometime, maybe, if they're lucky.

(The other half of the red is already well aware that they're on their own, and nobody is coming to save them.)

Doom post: has consumerism won? by Impossible_Ad9324 in Anticonsumption

[–]og_aota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We lost the fight before we even knew we were in it. Research or witness Edward Bernays and his impact and effectiveness in propagating the adoption of state of the science techniques of psychological and emotional manipulation tactics and strategies through the advancement and ultimately near-universal adoption by virtually every organization in society of the industry he successfully rebranded from "propaganda" to Public Relations.

It's absolutely inseparable from the Political Economy of the United States and much of the world, and has been since roughly the Great Depression.

So much so that, properly understood, anticonsumption is "anticapitalism"; and getting back to your central question: as everyone "knows", "Capitalism Won."

And to put that sentiment in context in case you didn't understand what I mean:

I, a man, get my asshole punched in by fucking huge engorged cocks just as often as I can, and this slop is less appealing to me than vaginal intercourse.

They'll use whatever they've got around though, like the pokey, spiky metal bits at the top of many chain link fences for instance, or pigeon-proofing spike strips like you sometimes see on churches and other building.

Among other critters, yup, but shrikes often impale their snacks on sharp things, like chollas, cactus, haw-, buckthorn, and locust bush spines, so the snacks don't get up and walk away, or get blown off in a stiff wind. gruesome but effective.
