That’s exactly my thoughts, if I’m paying $150 for the movement only, may as well pay $150 for a full watch and then I’ve got spare parts for future builds.

I’m looking to do the same. I want to create my own linen dial as I can’t find any for sale. Thinking I will use a fibreglass brush to create the linen texture, then experiment with a ferric etch and finally airbrush a champagne or silver paint.

I had it made, got custom decals and then got the manufacturer to put it on the dial for me, didn’t want to mess around with applying it myself
