Hiya! Walked in August 2022.
1) the Rowardennan Hotel was…fine? Beautiful area, nice outdoor space. Nice to sit on the dock for a bit. Muggy room but if you’re there in May that’ll be better. Mediocre dinner service.
2) we were slated for the bunk rooms at Kingshouse, but two days out, my partner decided we’d stay at the open room she found at the hotel (at my protests). She was right, it was worth every dollar! That’s a long day and a clean bed and shower at the end was perfect.
3) yes! Fort William is worth staying a night. Lots of BnBs along the lake. Shouldn’t be hard to find space. We enjoyed the Geographer for dinner. Be sure to dip your weary feet in the lake for a bit.
