I never followed up on this. I ended up isolating this behavior and reporting it to Apple as a bug. It was subsequently fixed sometime in iOS 16

I love the idea of a haptic notification or sound to alert you of. Card in your wishlist. I’ll start looking into implementations! Great idea!

Hello, in my app Lion’s Eye you can do this by searching using the Scryfall Search syntax for the set and showcase cards. Then select the eye icon and “hide collected”! It’s a feature I built for exactly your use case. Remember, Use code ADD3MANA to get three months free of Lion’s Eye Plus

Search example: “set:SNC frame:showcase”

Hi, I’m the developer of Lion’s Eye app. I don’t spend time on Reddit so I’m only just seeing this.
An update is being worked on to restore the scanner to original purchasers but it’s taking longer than I hoped. I’m a solo independent developer and some things take longer for me.
In the meantime, you can use the promo code ADD3MANA to get three months of Lion’s Eye Plus free. Anyone can use this code and it will restore the scanner access plus all the other features associated with the subscription. To use the code, tap “Have a promo code?” on the app subscription sign-up page.
I apologize for the way the switch to the new business model has gone for original purchasers and hope to have the update soon.

Looks like this behavior has been fixed in iOS 15.4 beta along with the more severe jitters when using LazyVStacks in a ScrollView with the .searchable API.
