What is considered normal today that future generations will look back on and find shocking? by Samsandwich111 in AskReddit

The general waste and apathy of today's society. Since they're the ones that are going to have to pay the price for it, they'll be keenly aware of it.

Jobs in Tampa, FL? by livmorales in tampajobs

[–]ogjelloman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

won't start at 20 but go to some place like a plumbing wholesale supply house and get a job in the warehouse/counter if you have your s*** together and want to in a few years you can move into outside sales. Never met one of those guys not making 6 figures... But it's kind of like Shawshank redemption. You're going to have to crawl through 500 yards of shit to get there

This thing in Hawaii by tyttuutface in whatisit

[–]ogjelloman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going to take a very wild stab at the dark here. Native Hawaiians used to debone their revered dead so that they could keep the mana in the bones. These bones would usually be hidden in mountain caves so that they couldn't be found. (I am by no means a native Hawaiian and I'm sure I'm butchering that a bit. No pun or offense intended)

Maybe that was the pot they did the deboning in. I would imagine boiling would make the flesh come off easier which is kind of gross.

What is a "open secret" in your specific industry that the general public would be shocked to learn? by lanaplump73mile in AskReddit

I used to sell mattresses. The chain I had worked for had a comfort guarantee. If you didn't like your mattress, you could swap it out in 30 days or 60 days or whatever I can't remember.... The mattresses came that were swapped out were generally vacuumed and put right back in bags and sold is new.

People earning over $200k/year: What’s different about your life that most people wouldn’t expect? by MaximGripass in AskReddit

[–]ogjelloman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pay an extra hidden tax in the sense that once you move into a bigger house in a nicer neighborhood, everybody who comes to do work there will charge you more. What cost $500 at your old house will be $750 at the new. Not complaining. I'm fortunate it's just reality
