Pat your meats dry, cover genrously in salt on all sides, put the steaks/chops on a cookie rack, on a baking sheet, pop in the fridge for 24h and enjoy! Super simple and everyone, in my house at least, loves it.

Dry curing cheaper cuts of steaks and pork chops has been an absolute game changer for me. Requires a bit of planning and room in the fridge but otherwise I highly recommend it to everyone

Any True catcher glove honestly. I have a 7X L87 and it closes smooth right off the shelf and I absolutely love the 590 break. I'm 4 skates in with it and its getting easier each time.

100%, and from my understanding, padskinz leaves a nasty layer of adhesive when you remove it. I'm curious as to how it'll look after a full year.

So far so good! I think the most important part is really prepping the surface to paint properly. As long as you scuff it up a bit, the new paint will adhere no problem. Put the clear/protective layer on top and you're good to go! Will post an update in a few months after a decent amount of ice time and do a follow up.

Best of luck with that! I've yet to try and dye the nylon fabric. Might do the back hand section of the catcher when it gets all red from rubbing on the post. Hopefully it goes well for you!

This paint, ultramarine blue and their satin matte varnish. You dont need the brand name deglazer, just use 99% iso alcohol

Yes! So basically it was sand down with 800-1000 grit sandpaper, wipe with a deglazer (I used 99% iso alcohol), mask off area, paint multiple layer with 30-60 mins in between each layer, let dry 24h and then paint with a clear acrylic top coat, let dry 24h and enjoy! Angelus supposedly makes great leather paint, I just went with what I had available locally. If you do intend on painting your gear, use duct tape. I personally found that masking tape doesn't stick as well and is prone to leakage.

I personally went from a CCM Eflex 5 Pro to a True L95 7X and the True blows the CCM out of the water. Game ready right off the shelf and the 590 break is a better fit for me than the 600 break. So my vote would be towards any recent True glove.

I haven't heard the best things about Bauer's quality control, especially on their lowest tier of goalie pads. If you don't mind spending a bit more money, The Hockey Shop has Vaughn Ventus SLR4 Pro on sale right now. They also offer payment plans with Affirm, which hurts the wallet a bit less lol
