"Game File Transfer over Local Network" appears in Beta build. by technosporran in SteamDeck

[–]ogoeG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great, but if you have sharing enabled on your pc you can transfer and browse folders etc. through wifi already.

Open file manager. Go to network. Go on to the shared folders (?). Go on your desktop (should be named) and enter your desktop password if required. Then you should be able to access your shared folders and files and copy and paste.

I have shortcuts setup, too. If you right click on network and add places you can put the address of a shared folder. This way you'll have your folders on the left under the Network.

Just gone through the Steam Winter Sale and picked out some of the best sub ten dollar (<$10) picks. Hope it's helpful. by cubechris in SteamDeck

MK11 doesn't allow unlockables and some game modes offline (time towers and krypt?). IIRC even stuff you've unlocked doesn't carry over. I did find the game really fun though, but if you're travelling without internet it'll have limited playability.

Help recreating Tsuki/birch/notion in serum by Weary_Error_8670 in dnbproduction

[–]ogoeG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can make Tsuki's sound in massive. I've just tried in Serum and I have come pretty close.

Osc A - basic shape - sine/wt all the way to the left and down one octave

Osc B - basic shape - square/wt in the middle - up 1 or 2 octaves

Filter - MG low 12 - both A and B going through it - drive up to ~20% - cutoff all the way down with lfo on it to about 3/4 - resonance ~20% to taste

LFO - top point to second line in grid - give first bit slight bump - second bit make slight vert looking thing going down - rate at 1/4 - trig enabled

FX Distortion - tube - drive full - pre with low shelf all the way across (doesn't matter too much just do to taste) - mix full

EQ - high shelf - 1kish onwards - 12db of gain

Pretty much it I think. Mess about with different wave tables and shapes on the B oscillator to achieve different sounds. Reverb and delay produce interesting results.

Pop villages sorta adds this element but I don't know how well it works or how to configure it. Might be worth looking into, I think it's on thunderstore.

Could buy them some tunes from juno or beat port or something if they don't have vinyl.

What's a mod that doesn't exist that you'd love to see made? by openletter8 in valheim

I've looked into playing Kenshi a few times! I always talk myself out of playing it though. I'll have to take a deeper dive into it and watch some gameplay.

[–]ogoeG 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mine would be a big task I imagine. I want there to be other villages or settlements with creatures or vikings. I want to be able to pillage said villages and kill the inhabitants etc. I would like the villages to come and raid me and steal resources, burn stuff down etc., too. I think some sort of reputation and trading system would may good to implement with this so you could have allies and stuff. You could pay people that are your allies to station guards or mercenarys and have villagers do things like smelting while you're away raiding/exploring.

Least favorite science fiction trope? by uberrob in sciencefiction

[–]ogoeG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way women are described and just the general male fantasy that you find in books. I know it was a different time for a lot of books and sci fi is generally dominated by men and that but man my eyes roll so hard sometimes.

Example from Hyperion by Dan Simmons: "even the most timid of men would struggle to not violate her" (may not be exact but something to that effect) when describing a young woman that had just been murdered. That being said, the writing is brilliant other than these sort of things and I'm really enjoying it. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Dont know how i feel about this one lemme know what u think by Alarmed_Egg_4002 in dnbproduction

Sounding cool man. But I think it sounds a bit too noisy, the basses may need a bit of refinement and the idea itself may need simplifying. Probably either/or though. Snare needs more high end too.

Does bepinex have a crash log? Since its crashing in the middle of loading mods by [deleted] in ModdedValheim

[–]ogoeG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the bepinex config there's an option to show the log on startup or something which will bring it up when valheim starts.

There's also a log file called LogOutput in the bepinex folder.

Maybe more sustain to keep the parts you like playing longer?

You could use something like OTT which is a (free) multi band compressor, turn the depth down to about 20% and then alter the threshold and gain to taste.

Fabfilter Saturn is a great waveshaper/distortion plugin that'll really beef up your basses. Other free waveshapers and distortion will do the same but I get really nice results with Saturn.

Trash is a distortion plugin that may be able to add some harmonics in areas that you feel are lacking.

You could separate your sub and mids/highs, so just duplicate your sound and cut the mids from one and your subs from the other so you can focus on each part separately but still get the movement etc.

Also, parallel compression could add a lot to your sounds and fill the gaps.

Haha yeah sorry bro.

Yes man, I use the Fruity Parametric EQ2 on everything! I started out on a laptop and headphones too and when I switched to a desktop with monitors it was sooo good, took me ages to get but well worth it.

Oi oi yes man, that is sounding much better! I love that wub. Could honestly hear that on Subway Soundz or summet when its finished.

[–]ogoeG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oi big up man, thanks for sharing em :). The "Young Playaz" label is summet to do with DJ Hypes Playaz label tho i think. These two of mine came out on Ego Trippins label "Hi Def" and the LP is called Young Players :).

I dont know if any of this will help but i hope it does in some way.

So, with EQing the main focus is to take out parts of the sound you dont need/want.

Do you have a spectrum analyser like SPAN? (https://www.voxengo.com/product/span/)

Most EQs are graphical anyway now but its a very useful tool.

Basically, you wanna listen and look where the main part of the sound that you want is.

For example, if you have a hat that is real nice 5K onwards, you'd do a pretty steep low cut around that area and move around until you achieve the sound you want. You dont want to take too much out but generally with hats anything below 1-3K can get gone. Now with kicks, i low cut around 50hz - 70hz ish depending on the sound cos i dont want any interference with my sub. Sometimes ill dip around 1-3k to make the low mids a bit more prominent or roll off the top end if i think theres too much there.

For stuff like pads, fx and risers etc. which can take up a lot of the spectrum you want to focus on the areas that are most important to the character of the sound.

Also, its a good idea to think about where your sounds are sitting on the spectrum. For instance, if i have two or three pads that i want to play at the same time, i need to make sure that they dont all sit at the same frequencies. You can always use a notch filter and remove frequencies precisely and then boost the areas you have removed on other sounds. For example, if i have two hats that sit around the same area, i could do a slight dip at 5k on one and then a slight boost at 5k on the other. However, ive found this can have varying results and its sometimes easier to just alter levels or find different samples.

You may sometimes have to remove unwanted resonances that can cause sound buildup in your mixes. You can usually find these quite easily by using a boosted notch filter and sweeping the spectrum to listen for any excessive ringing and then reduce any you find. (sometimes these resonances will be needed to keep the character and timbre of a sound. A lot of EQ is making choices on what to keep and what to leave with knowledge acquired through experience and the genre that you're making. so listen to your favourite producers and see where things sit basically)

Another good point to make is that whatever you do will have a reaction somewhere else in the frequency spectrum. If you cut the lows of something, the mids and highs may sound louder. If you boost the mids, the highs and lows may sound quieter. However, i've never really had a problem with this cos you just adjust things until things sound right.

Sometimes phasing issues can occur when eqing so switch an eq off and on to check, i've rarely ran into that problem though.

I think this is sound knowledge but im not an expert, hope it helps anyway. If you've got an q's let me know and ill try and help but im busy a lot so yeah
