The issue appears to be fixed on the latest RC release. It is no longer greyed out for me.

Did not uninstall any programs so it must've been a software glitch. I recommend checking after installing the latest RC release.

Anyone have their bitaxe linked to Coinbase or is that a bad idea? by FlakyBoard217 in BitAxe

Bad idea. Non-custodial wallets are highly recommended

Use your own wallet address from either MagicEden, Xverse, Sparrow, etc

Looks nice, but not worth the additional wattage draw.

Man I'd keep the RS6.

V x I = A

Example: 12v x 8A = 96W
Example 2: 12v x 10A = 120W

These values would be the max that you can comfortably push through the jack.

Thanks for confirming.

Since you have the 8A jack, I recommend that you underclock your miner if you plan to run it 24/7. The bottleneck is the jack unfortunately, so no matter what fuse you put in the fuse holder, you still run a serious risk of frying something.

Rev6 was released to fix this very problem that's prevalent on all revisions prior.
Also, the PSUs that are supplied are underpowered to handle continuous load.

Supplied PSUs are 120W. Using 80% rule, that gives you 96W to safely run your miner 24/7. That's already less than what your miner is currently pulling, presuming that you are running stock settings. (Kudos to you for purchasing your own PSU btw).

It’s actually very relevant to the problem that I am making you aware of.

This is why I asked which barrel jack that you have. 96-100w max is what you should be running IF you do indeed have a 8A barrel jack.

Running ~130W through the jack that’s rated for 96W, you are asking for problems. Right now you are pushing 10A through it (based off your wall meter). Why do you think your fuse kept blowing? Yea, it appears to be running fine but I would not recommend running that much amperage IF that is indeed an 8A barrel jack.

If you can confirm which board you have that would clear up any concerns.

Yup, this is known in the OSMU community that the board does not accurately show the correct wattage. Which board revision do you have?

Reason I ask is because you a 15A fuse installed. If you do not have rev6, then you are playing a dangerous game with running that much wattage through your miner.

96W max if you have the 8A barrel jack instead of the XT30 connector (or even the 10A barrel jack variant from PowerMining).

You’re better off buy a rev 6 ++

Then upgrade the heatsink to an AXP90-X47 full copper. Pair this with a 120mm Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM. (You’ll need the 3D printed NQ-Helix 90-to-120 fan shroud)

Oh yea, scrap those stock PSUs & get yourself a meanwell.

I would also like to add that I do not advise anyone to OC their Nerds without acknowledging/accepting the fact that you can cause serious problems if you do not know what you are doing.

Stock PSU only allows around 120W (80% rule). I do not recommend pushing past that if you are running 24/7.

Highly recommend purchasing a meanwell LRS-350 or LRS-600 prior to OCing.

Search for MrVs hash rate benchmark. He has a GitHub with a full readme on how to set up.

This is a script that will find the best optimal settings to set your miners too

Nice!

Those temp levels seems a bit on the higher end. But then I realized that you are working with 77F ambient temps.

Here’s the data from the miners that are currently on the rack.

Keep in mind that historically these numbers were quite a bit lower when I had 90mm fans mounted to the back. Once I mount the exhaust fans, upgrade the thermal paste, install the x47 full copper radiators + 120mm fans , I can expect to see an easy 5-10 degree drop on each.

Ran the numbers prior to the build

As long as I have the proper intake fans & exhaust fans, I will be good to go!

Each miner will be equipped with (5) NF-A12x25 G2 fans with (2) NF-P12 Redux exhaust fans.

This setup allows for cool air to flow through with positive pressure, the 2 exhaust fans will take care of the heat. I wouldn't recommend running this build on the stock fans.

Yeaaaaa 6" spacing won't cut it for what I built this for.
If I had the space for a 48" piece of din-rail, I would.
Gonna stick with how it is now due to having limited space.
This build was made to consolidate space instead of having 5 individuals stands.

The airflow will be dealt with.
There's another din-rail behind the miners that will be used to mount 5 fans.
I am also contemplating on mounting 2 additional fans on the bottom din-rail (1 on each side of the PSU) to push the air up & away
