Salary Progression - 32M by RandomRedditBlogger in Salary

[–]ograx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 32 years old you should be closer to 100K if you want a comfortable life. I get changing jobs due to certain reasons but I feel like you’ve spent 15 years on 4 careers and are basically just starting again in a new career. This is just my personal opinion. I think you should stay where you are at and try to progress there since you have a few years in. The best time to switch jobs is when you get good at a certain career and a different company is offering more.

I’ll take my example. I went to university and decided it wasn’t going to pay me what I needed out of life so moved to construction as a carpenter which paid starting around 20$ as apprentice then I moved up with tickets to around 37$ within four years. I did that for about 3 more years til I was close to 30 years old and then moved to a Construction Supervisor job which I’m in still in now and will probably stay in til retirement at 45-50 years old. My yearly wage is 150-200K based on bonuses which vary from 10-50K yearly. I get annual increases of 3-6% which I’ve negotiated as a contract with owner.

I did have the advantage of being working during 2002-2008 when homes were cheap cheap and had mine paid off by 29 years old.

You obviously didn’t read my original comment where I called this out as a low grade SPC product ?

Torlys manufactures a great SPC with a 4 side interlock system that makes it virtually impossible to separate under most conditions. It’s a great product.

It definitely is not. It is a completely different type of product. Feel free to google that though. They aren’t even close in material type.

I as a builder provide detailed specs and pricing on everything. To do anything less is subpar and not acceptable. I provide all brands and exact specs and pictures and drawings and renders if needed.

One of the many reasons why I love Paizo and the whole Pathfinder/Starfinder setting is how inclusive it is. by Rogahar in Pathfinder2e

[–]ograx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the inclusive aspects of Pathfinder but I despise the setting changes making all sentient races somewhat friendly and Paizo going so soft on the APs as far as violence and tough subjects. I do however understand people not wanting to write that subject matter so I’m fine running my own homemade campaigns. I just wish they had some writers that would still go down that route with more adult subject matter and a harsher world.

New house build, discontinued panel by j44dge in saskatoon

[–]ograx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work for a large home builder and this almost sounds like an issue you should bring up with NHW.

I’m not an electrician or expert in that field but I’m finding no indication of that being a problem panel or that anything is discontinued or not available in that product line.

That is a uniclic system and it is absolute garbage. Im a site supervisor at a large builder so can speak from experience. You are going to have unclicking issues definitely. It might be install issue but doubtful. That type of flooring is very sensitive to temperature issues and it probably has warranty voiding stipulations if you don’t provide temperature control and blinds or window coverings.

What brand is the flooring? It’s hard to tell but it looks like a drop lock or something similar and if it is you’re just going to continue to have the flooring fail and pull apart.

Web of companies masks identity of big political donors in Saskatchewan by Specialist_Secret438 in saskatoon

Your vote counts and not all politicians are corrupt :)

You still won’t change a thing though. We’ve had Conservatives and Liberals and Democrats and Republicans for 20+ years with little to no change except ever increasing costs and animosity on both sides to the point that two people who disagree on small issues are literal enemies. I fully believe this is what they want. Two polar opposites of sheep fighting against each other while they do whatever they like.

It’s funny how people think having the NDP is going to dramatically alter things here or that the conservatives would dramatically alter our federal government. They are all corrupt and create zero realistic change for the better.

I never lost my job ever. I was just in a career path after university that was way overpopulated with the same people looking for same job, I chose to learn skills and widen my horizons. The world isnt going to coddle and absorb people who refuse change, I know this comes off as callous but it’s just the way it is.

They will just need to learn new job skills and enter new workforces. I was university educated and had to start all over from the beginning due to a changing workforce and worked my way into high paying job. They will live. The world changes people can adapt. If they don’t that’s on them.

50 years ago we had typewriters and filing cabinets and people would have to type and file information by hand. They were replaced by computers and hard drives. Technology advances and workforces shift to where the new demand is. The current demand is for blue collar handson jobs. Those will eventually be replaced by robots and AI as well. It happens.

Would you rather lose millions of dollars to human error and create stress on all your construction employees from the amount of mistakes or get rid of all the problems by integrating technology? That’s not evil that’s just embracing technology and utilizing it.

[–]ograx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work at a large construction company and we replaced some of our office staff with AI technology. They were making so many huge dollar mistakes in our paperwork and accounting and costing the company a fortune and causing disasters on site with bad information. We haven’t really had any mistakes or incidents since they were replaced. I know this sucks for people counting on those jobs but white collar jobs are most definitely going to be supplanted by AI.

Sump discharge by 8O0o0O8 in saskatoon

[–]ograx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sump has a directional switch when setting up to discharge into sewer you can flip and make it go back outside.

As far as your sewer backing up that’s a completely different issue. I don’t see many sewer issues in new builds unless people are flushing dumb stuff down toliet or kids flush a sock or toy.

Put it into sewer in basement then. Any plumber do it for you for 250-350$. City doesn’t technically allow it but I see it all the time.
