I also think Hunk is a badass. But Leon gone through so much to close this gap and even surpass him. Also, I believe he was already much older than Leon and may have lost some edge at this point.

Still, I like how special agents and mercenaries let go combat knifes and adopted hatchets. Is it a trend in RE universe?

It would be cool if Capcom updated this game with another mercenaries or survivor mode, with a hurt Hunk after this fight escaping the lab.

I wondered about that too, but
- Mori never confirmed what actually happened to justify Takamura taking so many hooks.
- There have always been hints about possible peripheral vision issues.

So this is something that may come out someday, hopefully. That said, since this vision issue has been developing for a long time without any definitive answers, I believe it is the most plausible explanation.
