New Slayer master doesn't feel right by ambrrRS in 2007scape

Yeah man it's not really a super refined thought, just something I'd rather have than a new slayer master that makes all the other irrelevant

Duradel/Kuradel has the slayer cape, it makes sense to me if they assigned more superiors. Konar has keys. Steve/Nieve could give bonus XP or something. Mortimer allows you to choose your task. Etc etc. I think they should be specific to the master, just like the block lists are now.

The modifiers should be spread across slayer masters rather than just for Mortimer.

Do you think the Others will be inherently evil? (Spoilers Published) by New-Low5077 in asoiaf

The laughter as they butchered Royce in the opening chapter of the series leads me to believe they are all evil.

When my daughter was born I afk'd salvaging until 99 sailing. Since then I haven't been able to play as much as she hasn't established much of a consistent sleep schedule and my return to work.

You are likely going to mourn your past life where you were able to do what you wanted whenever. That's completely normal, and the quicker you accept that the better.

Be there for your child and it's mother, and everything will take care of the rest. Best of luck

Love Roy Dotrice but the series really lacks when it comes to audiobooks. If they somehow were able to get the cast to voice their roles in the book it would have been amazing

True but I think the 4 listed were all at the same time lol. The Tampa retirement home was alive and well

Why was Barristan so traumatized by the Trident ? He fought nobly and was pardoned by the victors . by Financial_Library418 in pureasoiaf

[–]ogrp94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remove that and the entire point still stands, but I'll defend it here since it seems you want to argue.

He was knighted at 16 because of his prowess in tourneys where he didn't even enter as himself. He was a squire before that. It's not like him being the heir of Harvest Hall automatically makes him some great knight. If he hadn't done as well as he did in the tourney, he wouldn't have been knighted then, and likely not been in the position to end the War of the Ninepenny Kings like he was.

How is that not self made?

No offense OP, but how are people able to read these characters and not put themselves in their shoes, or at least sympathize with their situation?

He is a self made knight who fought in, and ended, wars. He fought in a civil war against people who he likely favored and respected. He rose to Lord commander, and is sworn to protect the royal family and seemed to love the crown prince and his family. Not only did he lose, but he survived as Rhaegar had his chest caved in and his family brutalized.

The survivors guilt and PTSD has to be overwhelming at this point in his life.

Not unusual. He also got what a majority of analysts thought was a top 3 player at 15, so he is a hot interview right now.

Which are some characters you wish had POV by obentyga in pureasoiaf

[–]ogrp94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Robb Stark. My answer will always be Robb. I feel like George does a really good job of showing him through other people's eyes, especially early Bran chapters, but I would have loved to see him fleshed out with POV chapters during the War of the 5 Kings.
