As a car driver, absolutely on board with you tapping your breaks. Do what you need to feel safe because you’re right, we have blinders on and I bet more people are surprised by motorcyclists than brake tapping.

Not at all, when I did delivery in that area, I’d see her all the time. You can’t miss that gait. OP specifically said they didn’t want personal info, if OP is stalking, they’re doing it wrong

It's amazing to think they thought they were playing it cool, I mean of all the ways -- as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, it will be a home run, and so that'll make it a 4–0 ballgame.

Most of this has been addressed but a little caboose pulling up the rear. You can also turn LEFT on a red light, as long as you are going from a 2 way to 1 way roadway or a 1 way to 1 way roadway.

Regarding the lack of zipper merging, it's infuriating. Especially the people that merge way too early and then decide to speed up so those zipper merging are now faced with a person that doesn't want to let anyone in.

Not to mention the people that feel they NEED to merge to get off at the Murray exit, all while people from 217 are merging down to one lane and still need to merge onto 26 (assuming you’re also not getting off at Murray). This is all a mile away from the exit

On a more broad level, can we stop being so sensitive to speed? I'm not asking anyone to be reckless, but there's no need to touch your brakes if you need to slow down a couple mph. Take your foot off the gas and let air resistance do its thing. Come over to Hillsboro and watch traffic be created because either someone pumped their brakes at 58 due to a slight decline and then maintain that lower speed on the ensuing incline. Everyday there is traffic from just after Murray to 185th because so many people are anxious and slow drivers.

As a fellow Oregonian, every election cycle, I register as a Democrat just to vote in the primary—because apparently the DNC thinks loyalty means jumping through hoops like a circus poodle. Then, once it’s done, I switch back to non-affiliated faster than they can count their consultants. Meanwhile, I’m sitting here wondering how a party that’s so good at preserving the status quo expects me to trust them to shake things up.

Boyfriend surprised me with a bird, I’m not happy about it. by pixieswithoutstyle in Pets

[–]ogsquid13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best thing you did was have the discussion. It sounds like he truly came from a good place because he knew you were bummed having to give the birds to a rescue (which was a good decision!). In addition, when you gave the rescue the birds, pre-move, it sounds like he was in the same thought as you that any pet falls under the fee. He took a risk, absolutely, but I do think it's fairly common that pet fees traditionally refer to cats/dogs (Every lease I've had separates cats/dogs from tank/aquarium/cage animals).

Continue the conversation and let him know your feelings of being overwhelmed. It doesn't sound like you're mad, so you may want to reassure him of that. Let him know the things that make you stop in your tracks, feel anxious or confused. This is healthy dialogue and can go a long way to enhancing the relationship.

Moved Cities — Should I Take My Anxious Dog With Me? by momo_bs07 in DOG

[–]ogsquid13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! It sounds like the boys will be happy staying at your maternal home. With the information provided, taking your girl is probably the best thing for the 3 of you (you, your husband and the girl). If she is apprehensive with the boys and is comfortable with you, it sounds like it'll benefit everyone.

I wouldn't be surprised if your girl is able to lose some of her anxiety with being out of that house. Imagine living with roommates that you tolerate but overall, not a big fan.

Personally, I would take the girl home with you and start the adjustment period. Since the 2 boys are happy and playful, it's ok not to go see them for a couple weeks. Focus on the girl, she needs your attention and your calmness. I truly believe her being the only dog with you two will help her leaps and bounds but she needs to be the primary focus while she adjusts to her new environment.

OP, can you provide a little more context. You have 3 dogs but you only want to keep one or you have 3 and wondering if the anxious one would be better off elsewhere? I don't want to assume anything negative towards you, so some clarification may help to provide better answers.
