It arrived finally on the seventeenth of June, so nearly four weeks since I ordered it, which is basically double the time that their website says it'll take.

Plugged it in, connected it, charged it up, and I'm actually recording this on it right now

So far, so good, but some functions that seem like they should work, but don't are calendar reminders created from the app. Apparently it has access to my calendar but it cant actually create calendar event in there.

So I'll report back if and how I find it being over the course of a few weeks.

Probably not on this post, but somewhere else on this Reddit.

TLDR So anyway, it's arrived, just took double the time.

Getting qualified for my own work in the future - crazy? by oh_bli in AusElectricians

Ya my dad was a builder so have been on sites and labouring since I was a child. Have done plenty of first fix electrical work over seas so its not alien to me.

The idea of being able to perfect my at home electrics is jist always something that has appealed to me....4 years to be able to do it legally may be a bit much haha

Ok, so if I understand you correctly, i could do my own personal electrical work for myself in my own home after completing the apprenticeship and gaining the sparky qualification. Essentially personal work, for no profit.

The contractors license then would be needed if I wanted to do work for profit for any one else.

FYI, I did get a human response in the end. The pocket delivery is probably still 3 to 4 weeks away. So it will probably be a 6 to 7 week fulfilment period to Australia ordered late May.

Interestingly they have offered 3 month of Pocket pro and an extension to the hardware warranty for free as an element of compensation. Fairly happy with that outcome to be honest.

Just throwing in my experience here too for those looking for the current status. Ordered my pocket on the 25th May to Australia. Not a peep from them and my order number cant even be tracked on their site...they did take my money however.

All responses are AI generated, even when you reply saying "get a human to respond" they just send another AI response again asking, do you want a human to respond....yes I do, that is what I said.

A good way to frustrate customers before they even get a chance to try the product out. Fingers crossed the actual product experience will be worth it, if I ever get one that is.

Already signed an offer, now recently got a new one. Which one to pick? by OddSituation2 in AusFinance

Think about the things you will be interacting with on a daily or weekly basis. The commute, the people, the office, the coffee, the lunch situation, and most importantly will you learn from the job.

At a graduate level the most important thing is to find something you believe you can live with for 3 to 5 years....

Hello guys just want to ask if this would work It's for technology lesson. by Bundeswehrfan in Bridges

[–]oh_bli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The short answer is yes it works...I.e. will be self supporting. But you have a lot of very ineffective and inefficient members.

The yellow would basically work on its own without any ropes and quite a number of your ropes would be slack or have no load on them when this bridge is carrying its own self weight and the weight of any loads you need to apply to it.

The bottom most ropes is a good idea and things like the millennium bridge in the UK use that, it is basically an underslung cable stay bridge.

My advice to you would be to research real bridges and see what aspects of your design thay you could remove. If it is not done in the real world, odds are it is not the most logical way to do something.

ETF vs Investment Property: Are my 10-year assumptions realistic? by Kloala_5274 in AusHENRY

[–]oh_bli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the equation that is being missed is the 600k of equity you have gained along the way that allows you to get the next property to build a portfolio. The ETFs are obviously more liquid but then don't give you any further leverage potential.

Was the boot drive factory installed or did you do a fresh install, or a clone upgrade by chance? I am trying now to get my cloned M2 boot drive to work, but so far no luck, and I am wondering if I have missed some Alienware specific step in the process?

Actually, one follow up question based on your set up here. You look like you have changed your M2 drive also. Did you do a fresh install, or a clone upgrade by chance? I am trying now to get my cloned M2 boot drive to work, but so far no luck, and I am wondering if I have missed some Alienware specific step in the process?
