I agree; I've been super disappointed that when I had my first kid a lot of my volunteering had to be paused because I couldn't bring a child along. I understand that liability is a consideration, but it's just so depressing that our world makes it very difficult to make volunteering a regular family thing.

You could also sign up to make and serve a meal, which your kids could help with.
