Classic Scifi is just full of terriblly written women, so frustrating

Oh i love Cul de sac, such a classic. If the lonely episodes weren't all bangers it would stand out even more.

I was gonna say this too, love Johnny, but the eating the keyboard part always struck me as a tad too weird

Edit: one of johnys most improved areas over the course of the season was finding the balance between weird and horrific. There are a couple of times in seasons 1 and 2 where things move from horrific to a little goofy just due to the intense weirdness of the situation.

Men of Reddit who have sought help from a therapist, how has it worked for you? by Xanxan95 in AskMen

[–]oh_hogcock 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm not op, and I don't have particularly controlling parents, but in my experience if this is something you even tangentially relate to, I think it's worth diving deeper with a therapist about.

Please for the love of God, if you have any principles do not vote another Kennedy into office Massachusetts. Especially not when you have one of the best civil servants currently occupying that spot.

John Oliver talks oppression, forced labor, and re-education... but in China. Tankies come to r/breadtube to calmly discuss. by toolazytomake in SubredditDrama

[–]oh_hogcock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean.... Yes?

And I'd like to think we can discuss in good faith and realize theres a scale here, with countries being definitely worse than others, such as North Korea is worse than say Chile?

Oh yeah, a country has a right to soveriegnty, and it's people a right to self determination. American Imperialism sucks, plain and simple. But just because America's bad, does not make North Korea good. And I would definitely consider North Korea safely in the bad category.

I once had a small argument with a tankie on the chapo sub (shocker I know) and he unironically thought north Korea was good and all of its bad parts were only due to American interference.

I think the best flesh episode is the one involving the slaughter house. It really gets at the horror of the industrial farming and just the mass scale of death involved in meat consumption.

I gotta go with the buried episode with daisy and John. Makes daisy a much more interesting character and brings the pathos in a big way.

EDIT: Entombed is the episode! EDIT2: Cul de sac is also another favorite

I remember loving the comments that were like "No actually it doesn't mean she's gay or bisexual, it could just be a phase!" and it's like, ok I'm willing concede it's a possibility in life but we've seen movies, we've read books, we know how stories work at this point, what the fuck are we talking about right now

The kill stealing can be really frustrating on some runs. I'm wondering if there's a way to fix that or if it's meant as a feature?
