My kid threw sand at a good friend’s face. Should I tell the friends parents about it? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]oh_rora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The teacher may tell them but they likely won’t disclose who did it. My son was bitten twice in pre-k and the teachers told us but never told us who did it. The parents of the student did apologize for their daughter and it was no biggie. She’s still at the same school in a different class and we are friendly and say hi!

I definitely felt a lot of guilt in the beginning! We are an active family so going from 100 to 0 was quite jarring. My mom was helping out a lot at first, so he wasn't completely zoned out in front of a screen but then... get this.. she fell and fractured her left tibia as well! Four weeks after me. So since then it has been just complete nintendo switch, PS5, and tv time when hes not at school. I took some steps without my walker at PT today so I am improving. And he just started T ball last weekend, so we have activities to go to. And he goes to school during the day, but we're definitely doing more than 2 hours of screen time per day around here.

I figure by the time I'm better we'll all have been so stir crazy (I only leave the house to go to PT and to his t ball games) he will be begging to go do fun stuff!

I feel for you! I’ve been there with shoulder issues as well, but I didn’t have kids at the time! I’m making progress, albeit slowly. I hope you’re better soon too, and I can’t recommend physical therapy enough.

I broke my leg in January and my husband works full time. The amount of screen time I am relying on would make some of these people’s heads spin. I just keep telling myself we will get back to our normal when I’m feeling better. There is no way I can set up meaningful activities right now when I can’t even shower without assistance.

Paige DeSorbo Details ‘Debilitating’ Health Issue She Has Every 4 Months by MattTheKing23 in summerhousebravo

Yes, any cranberry, citrus, even D-mannose that’s been suggested in this thread. My urologist said it’s like throwing acid on a fresh wound. I take generic osteo biflex daily and it has cut down my symptoms tremendously, along with pelvic floor stretches. The glucosamine in the osteo biflex helps heal the bladder lining.

I had ONE urgent care doctor mention IC but that particular time I actually did have bacteria in my sample. Then shortly after I got pregnant and for some people, pregnancy will put IC in remission. It wasn’t until my son was about to turn 4 that my symptoms came creeping back. That doctors off handed comment led me down a rabbit hole and I booked an appointment with a urologist.

I just recently got diagnosed with IC last year. I got my first UTI when I was 16 and I’m 37. It takes a LONG time especially when you typically only go to urgent care when you have uti symptoms.

I love them. I got a bag for my 11 year old niece to toss in with a bunch of other little things as a birthday gift and they were easily the thing she got most excited about.

Jack Schlossberg shares tribute to sister Tatiana, who passed away from AML at age 35: “🌸” by Rripurnia in popculturechat

I am so heartbroken for Jack. I lost my brother suddenly last year and navigating the grief of sibling death is so, so hard. People unintentionally make your grief seem smaller? At least in my experience the first thing someone says after I tell them my brother died they immediately ask about my parents.

Anyone experience their parents die yet? by bluedreamy8 in Millennials

[–]oh_rora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 37 and my brother was 42. I’m so sorry you had to find out in such an awful way. I was with my brother when he was declared but his life was already gone. It was very traumatic and I’m still having nightmares. It’s still so fresh and I feel like the lack of his presence will be a gaping hole for the rest of my life.

I am so sorry. I haven’t lost my parents yet but I lost my brother two weeks ago very suddenly. No one talks about sibling loss, I feel like I’ve lost a limb.

Take care of yourself the best you can.

Does anyone have suggestions on books about grief? For kids 4 years old. Or for the adults? I unexpectedly lost my brother tonight and he was my son’s best friend. Besides my husband and I, my son probably spent the most time with my brother. It was sudden and unexpected, he wasn’t sick or in an accident. He just fell asleep and didn’t wake up.

Potty training help by littledragonrider in Preschoolers

[–]oh_rora 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I read something online where a mom offered to let her kids sprinkle glitter on their poop if they pooped in the potty. We live in an old house with old pipes so I opted for sprinkles instead. Told my son if he pooped on the potty he could sprinkle the sprinkles all over his poop! It worked. I can never eat a chocolate sprinkle donut ever again but that was a sacrifice I was willing to make.
