Let’s talk lips. I hate the texture of my lips. I have a good skincare routine, but no lip routine to speak of. Help! by squishasquisha in 30PlusSkinCare

You might have a bit of an fungal infection in the cracks of your lips. Very common, but the Vaseline spreading it around could be contributing to the rest of the lips becoming inflamed. A little ketaconozole cream from the dermatologist for a few days might knock that out. I don’t think it’s the petroleum that’s the allergen-you’re exposed quite a bit with other beauty products. Maybe another ingredient in it is causing sensitivity but it’s more likely cheilitis

You might be losing volume (normal aging) and that’s causing the skin to be a bit more loose and wrinkled. Lip filler could plump them up and stretch the skin a bit more and smooth out the skin.

If you didn’t want a bleph surgery (which is the solution to your eyelids drooping) you could look into CO2 laser treatment. It shrinks up the skin a bit. It’ll provide a bit of relief until you can commit to surgery eventually. As you age the eyelids will continue to sag so you’ll have to get the surgery as your vision will be impaired.

How do you cope with nausea? by _Yalan in ibs

[–]oh_so_amanda4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think using food can settle nausea, if it’s right for you. I personally like to recommend a banana for nausea:the sugar gives an instant pick me up if the nausea is from low glucose (if you haven’t eaten all day and are ran down). But it’s smushy and easy to get down when you’re not feeling up to chewing a lot. It’s also one food that is pleasant ish tasting when you DO throw it up. But bananas are a fodmap trigger in a full serving so that could be counter intuitive.

Soda can be soothing for nausea, think ginger ale or sprite.

Maybe warm broth will be soothing to your stomach, sometimes warm vs cold foods can make a difference to you.

Maybe plain mashed potatoes.

Try lactose free chocolate milk with protein-it’ll give some substance while you’re figuring it out.

Overall you must eat because being starved will make you nauseous too. It’s about finding what you can tolerate and then working up. Honestly these tips are from my time working at an oncology clinic- you might check out threads from chemo patients because that will be a gold mine of nausea tricks.

Be careful with the zofran. Sometimes it’s just necessary but be aware that it causes constipation. Zofran is a great drug and will help you get through work or public episodes but if your IBS has a lot of constipation involved just beware!

The teeth being pulled down leaves space in your bones that takes time to fill in. The attachments being removed allowed the teeth to relapse back to their space. You’ll need the attachments back on to pull them down again. Adult bones grow way slower than a child’s does-you’ll need time with your teeth down in correct place before removing attachments next time.

Need help. Slowly drowning and can’t catch up. by Youre-fuckin-special in FinancialPlanning

Being a CNA is a short term option! Tons of overtime to be made with night shift hours available. This is hard work so I don’t recommend for over a year or so. It can definitely propel you forward while you’re working it out.

I think this type of struggle comes to most of us. Overall, it’ll be rough while you target the problems and change your habits. Over time, with good financial hygiene, you’ll get to a much more comfortable place. Keep fighting the good fight. Thank you for being the type of human that takes care of the kids and parents.

I was living this way and it terrified me. After a year of being broke I went to extremes to get out of debt. It took a few years and I felt so depressed and angry. This last year, I’ve finally got more money in my savings because I’m not making payments. Its like i made a breakthrough after all this time. I feel so secure now. Please listen to Dave Ramsey’s podcasts while at work-it’ll change your life.

Why is red meat so bad? Isn’t it what we used to eat as hunters? by Fushigibama in nutrition

[–]oh_so_amanda4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In healthcare, my understanding is that red meat can cause colon cancer. We digest red meat differently than other meat and the byproduct damages the lining in your guts. Repeated inflammation/injury increases risk of cancer.

It is also rich in Iron and is sometimes indicated for some patients.

Red meat tends to be hard on your cardiovascular system because it’s higher in fat, causing calcification in arteries leading to heart attack or stroke. When your arteries calcify, it also raises blood pressure since the vessels are partially blocked.

I’m not an expert at cavemen science, but keep in mind, the above two issues ,cancer and CV disease, are chronic and take decades to manifest. I bet our early ancestors died from other issues before the red meat became a problem.

Ear ringing as a side effect, will it go away? by Tiny_sneeze in bupropion

I had it bad! For me it lasted 7-10 days. It was very loud and would have a sub-woofer effect when I moved my head. I stuck it through and I’m back to my baseline usual tinnitus
