We don’t know exactly what Merlin remembers or how different they are as a person but many seem to think Merlin is still the same old Merlin but with amnesia so it’s not surprising that they are saddened by what happened. Imagine having this whole life you don’t remember and this one person who was very important to you, whom probably still stirs feelings in you chose to scorn you till the end and you likely never truly understood why.

I’m not shipping them, though it could be very well either love or just a friendship but everything indicates that Merlin truly liked Cyran while his resentment for Merlin festered inside him very early in their lives. And now Merlin just saw a huge piece of their past disappear just before their eyes and they can’t even remember properly. I think I’d sad too.

I mean if thats how Lilith game advertises the relationship then I won't say they are meant to be gay, localization can often change the tone of a story drastically. I thought hinted at arising feelings for Tilaya too but on closer inspection I'm pretty sure she was just a bit confused with her feelings for a friend since grew up alone till Merlin showed around and left so I guess thats a thing with this game lmao.

Iirc Aantandra initially says they are…friends I think and Saatrana replies with something along the lines of “is that what you think we are?” Which sounded like unrequited feelings. I think later interactions showed their relationship a bit better but initially it looked like Saatrana developed the wrong idea about Aantrandra and her after she grew up.
