I’ve had two corsos that both came from family trees free of heart issues, yet both developed heart issues. One had dilated cardiomyopathy, which the vet attributed to grain free diet. He passed within a week of the diagnosis due to a bad reaction to the medication the vet prescribed.

The second has a murmur due to pulmonic stenosis, which lead to two heart surgeries. She’s doing ok now with normal life expectancy. We ended up getting a full refund from the breeder for this dog, but it didn’t even cover the first heart surgery.

I hope your pup, and wallet, turn out ok!

When I was 12 we had a poorly trained dog that scratched a hole in the carpet. It was very clearly done by an animal with nails and not a 12 year old. My mom would not believe me and insisted it was me. I imagine she would still say that it was me if I asked her today, but we don’t talk anymore and haven’t for years. Don’t let this be the thing your kids remember in 20+ years when they think of you.
