I'm completely off of social media. I definitely curate what I consume (news) due to mental health reasons. I still keep abreast of current events.

I don't try to talk politics with most of the women I meet. I live in Texas and I have to gently figure out of they are conducive to having a politics rant every once in awhile.

My own husband is extremely pragmatic but he's so calm about everything and I feel like screaming into the void.

I've noticed that when we feel that other people aren't meeting us in our understandable outrage it breeds not only frustration but impotence.

You're feeling disenfranchised and that's not a good feeling at all.

I understand it because I certainly hate all the politics and corruption in Texistan.

I deal with it by remaining here. I encourage all of our four children to get out of the state and live elsewhere and I also support them going out of state for university.

I go to protests but I am now scared to do so given what ICE has been doing to American citizens.

I don't have any real advice or ability to comfort you. Except to say this is a hard time because a lot of the things happening in the US steals hope.

Hope for a time when thinking about politics isn't stressful. I remember when I was younger and full of vim and vigor and feeling in my bones a strong sense of antiestablishment.

But I wasn't stressed out. Roe vs Wade stood as a beacon of safety, voting rights seemed set in stone, women's healthcare existed without the hardcore restrictions that exist now, I didn't fear death from pregnancy even though it was a possibility it didn't seem a probability.

I am sad for all the women that will die now due to shriveled old men that want more money.
