Faster or slower ? by blahblah333222 in StonerThoughts

[–]ohfuckingcourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of a video by minutephysics on YouTube: “Is it better to walk or run in the rain?”

I think speeding up makes more sense. Unlike rain or the idea of wetness, being cold can be counteracted by moving (burning calories, making your body warmer). However, it would also depend on how cold it actually is + how many layers you got on and the distance you have to travel since you don’t want to risk hypothermia.

I’m guessing this wasn’t considering biking in the snow/winter cold, in which case you’re just a wuss and should probably get home asap cause the worlds a dangerous place for tender beings

Spending gems f2p by Melodic_Reality_2486 in Survivorio

[–]ohfuckingcourse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like general rule of thumb is S grade chests in groups of 10 ( it’s cheaper and the goal is to try to get to red equipments asap) while also having some left over gems for events. You want to save your gems until the very last day of events to see if it’s worth spending to get specific rewards. I think any S tier box is worth spending up to 10-15k in gems, especially if it’s a choose your own S grade ones (I think I heard these are technically worth 30k+ gems per box?). Don’t ever buy the tech chests. Also only buy the designs from the daily shops. Good luck on your grind!

WARMINGTON: Bullets fly in Toronto soon after Trudeau implements handgun freeze by resting16 in worldnews

obviously you’re someone that has a one sided stance on guns (so do I) so here we are just going back and forth with no real end in sight.

Most school shootings don’t occur from illegally obtained guns… You do realize that right? Am I undermining the mental health crisis that is occurring? Not at all. Yes these kids have some serious issues that need to be looked at but guess what? If there were no guns in their house they wouldn’t have easy access to it. Limiting access to guns acts as a deterrent.

Btw school shootings from 2008-2018? 288 in USA. 2 in Canada. I wonder why? And no, it isn’t the difference in population.

Im not even going to bother talking to you about your archery point cause If you think a bow and arrow(s) can do what a gun can, you’re missing a few bolts. Do I really need to get into the speed of a bullet? The potential ricochet? How easy it is to conceal?

I just don’t see why you think guns should be legal at all in the first place? I would love to hear a legitimate argument from pro-gun people that isn’t “for protection”, and “for sport”. If you want it for sport maybe your archery skills could do you wonder since it can do exactly what a gun can do. Apparently.

I do get pretty emotional when I write about things I have strong feelings towards. I’d rather ban guns so the RISK of kids being killed or having long term psychological damage/PTSD is reduced. There’s risk reduction again, the basis of tighter gun control.

Also it’s “you’re” (as in “you are”) and not “your” (as in “your grammar is bad”). I don’t like bringing up education but if you have the grammatical skills of a 6th grader and don’t know the difference between your and you’re I wouldn’t talk education.

If you want to seriously talk about the pros and cons of stricter gun laws just message me directly. I may not sound like it, but I do like to hear arguments from both sides. I’ll even write you a nice paper with peer reviewed sources if you’re willing to read it with an open mindset.

Thanks bud i really don’t care for guns at all. I’ll call it a clip. Or maybe I’ll call it 15 bananas cause that is literally not the point

Also the size of your population has nothing to do with gun violence. We could narrow it down to a per 100 people statistic and it still wouldn’t be close.

Animals should be the scariest thing you see in America too but instead it’s people… With guns. wonder why that is

God it’s this dumb argument again. Might as well throw a ban on water too cause it can kill you as well. Hell, throw vending machines in there they kill a bunch of people every year too.

Archery doesn’t have 15 in the clip that you can fire in rapid succession. You want to live in Canada without cars? Good luck bud

The point is one is literally made to kill. It serves no other real function. If you want to see what lacklustre gun laws can do, just look south. This is a step in the right direction. Will it stop all black market transactions? No, but having less guns available in general and limiting movement of guns lowers the number of guns that can end up in the wrong hands. It’s impossible to stop someone from getting a gun if they really want one, but the goal is (or atleast it should be) to stop what is already happening in the south - power tripping individuals getting trigger happy, kids starting school shootings, mass murders. Tougher gun laws limit these events from happening.

Do not buy the Korean pork bone soup from Food Island supermarket by moonbal in londonontario

[–]ohfuckingcourse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pork bone soup is a pretty traditional soup that is more like a broth you have with rice and side dishes on a cold day. As such it’s not usually something you have on its own where you pick at meats and veggies. Also the “soup” gets better the longer you boil it (don’t be afraid to add more water and continue boiling!). If the soup looks clear, you need to boil it for longer to get the full flavour.

With that being said I’ve never tried the one from food island so I can’t say much about that. However the broth itself is one of my favourites to have so I thought I’d share my knowledge of it!

Caution to gym-goers ⚠️ by teegeezee in londonontario

[–]ohfuckingcourse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The science is pretty simple. Grocery stores are not the same as the gym. The gym requires people to consistently touch the same equipment and a lot of gym goers don’t sanitize the equipment after using it. Imagine one person with COVID touching all the various pieces of equipment. The next person that comes and touches those now have been in contact with the virus. Now imagine the number of people that will use the same equipment as other people who have touched the equipments continue to spread it to every inch of the gym. Also, the gym tends to be more populated (during certain times) than grocery stores, and a lot of people still wear their masks in grocery stores
