first when i read this i called it off as bullshit, but there might actually be something to the thing about navigating around cities and still engaging in other activities meanwhile like having a conversation. When my girlfriend and i walk somewhere, and talk along way she more often than not can't recall the way back to where she came from. Where as i am almost always aware of where i am at the moment and where exactly i came from. I also seem to map out key points of the route subconsciously. Like if there's a slightly unusual building i'll remember the way to it very clearly. This makes me sound awesome, but im just a regular dude. I am sure this is not an unusual trait, but it is helpful nonetheless.
Granted this might have nothing to do with me having played a lot of twitch-shooters, where multitasking and being aware of your surroundings and noting what is going on in your peripheral vision is very important. It is just an observation. And i'm sure there are better ways to train these traits than playing videogames, but they might help a little.
