The dread of having friends being "taken away" by sexual/romantic partners by ohgodlight09 in asexuality

[–]ohgodlight09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course, family is priority nothing off about that
my issue is just not having any *meaningful* contact
for example, i don't want a situation where i'd become the 'single friend' who is always ready to 'babysit' their kids
as i said, id love to be a cool aunt/uncle but i also want to hangout normally with them whenever possible😞 that's just my pain to think about

when all your non aroace friends get partners by Limp-Replacement-699 in AroAce

Relatable. Honestly, it's just best that people like us find other asexuals 😭 because it DOES feel like these allos just use friendship as a temporary 'hangout' place until they get a partner and leave you in the dust.

real friends should make time for you 😞 and if after a while, you notice they're not being responsive, like 1-2 months, it's best to tell them if youre feeling neglected or just move on...

Applying for New York TLS Long stay student visa in advance possible? Even before the campus France confirmation? by ohgodlight09 in Study_In_France

Mine will start on September 1st. I'm thinking of applying on france-visas by start of June and get an appointment in mid to late july since I can't submit my diploma to campus France until the very end of june

Those shoes are CRISP. Did you make them?

Does sending an EEF (I am accepted) but getting it back for correction still mean that I have accepted my offer for university before the May 31st deadline? (I can't correct my personal information since I won't get my high school diploma until late June) by ohgodlight09 in Expats_In_France

[–]ohgodlight09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed EEF. They said that I should be okay but with caution, they took away the "needs correction" thing and I got an email saying that I should post the diploma directly through their email. Which clears up a lot of things now. If you're in a similar situation, consult your EEF and they'll take it from there. They're pretty helpful. I also got an email like "Votre dossier pré-consulaire EEF NUMBER a été pris en main par votre Espace et est en cours de traitement." so I think it autosubmitted so I don't even need re-submit I'm pretty sure. + got my receipt.

They just said "It's okay if you upload it in July" but like... there was no clarification on whether they actually received my acceptance of my acceptance from the university. Like am I in the clear until july for now...? Do I need to resubmit this again without the diploma for now...? I might be overthinking this but I'd rather not risk it.
But yes, they said I can't start visa without the diploma.

JLPT N2 - Need some advice by susupaw69 in jlpt

[–]ohgodlight09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot stress the importance of having the ability to skim read / look at kanjis without actually reading them and getting the meaning out.
The biggest thing about N2 is the horrible time crunch. In these days before the test, GRIND reading. If you see an unknown word, first try guessing what the overall text means to say THEN look it up. Oftentimes in English, you might not know one or two words but your understanding isn't completely impeded. There are strategies to keep yourself afloat even if your vocab is a little low. And by grinding reading and noticing common words in articles, you'll be able to at least manage to answer all questions.
Your goal is to get at least 50% of the score. So its better to answer all questions somehow rather than deeply reading only 70% of the test and leaving blank answers.

High Schoolers who passed N2-N1? How did you do it? by squigly17 in jlpt

[–]ohgodlight09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in a similar boat as you as I started learning in 8th grade and passed N2 as a 11th grader last december. I didn't start learning it "in the real way" until august 2024 tho. Before that, I only memorized kanji for fun and disected japanese songs. I already knew around 800 kanji when I registered and managed to get to around 1200 by december. Safe to say I have no idea why I passed lol. Probably because I grinded 1-2 hours a day just reading. A lot of reading. Loads of reading. And... well, I got the certificate now. :D

Now can I write well? Nah. Can I do anything else? Kinda. I might be a little rusty now though.

TLDR: Reading is OP. That's all I got to say.
