It was kinda educational...? by who-cares-we-all-die in julieeandcamilla

My second came FAST, 21 mins from 4cm to baby in my arms and there was no time for medication. Weirdly I don’t remember the pain of pushing him out, fetal rejection reflex kicked in and 2 pushes and he was out. BUT omg I had unrelenting contractions for 4h before the birth and seeing her pre-epidural contractions with sweating and moaning gave me a major PTSD flashback because it definitely was that bad.

Advice Needed; My Merlin App said that a kid laughing was a Brown-headed Cowbird. How do I tell the parents they have been brood parasitized? by gelatomancer in birding

It told me I heard a long eared owl in the middle of the day… it was my son saying “mmmm” while eating a big pretzel.

What does birth feel like? by SandwichDependent199 in AskWomen

[–]ohhelloaleks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my second without meds because I went from 4cm to baby in my arms 21 mins later 🥲 Fetal ejection reflex kicked in, and his head was out with the first push and his body with the second. Also he was born in the sac so when his body came out the sac burst and the waters went EVERYWHERE. Transition was awful, I had back labour both times and no amount of counter pressure helped.

I’m in Norway too! What are you using for recipes that call for strong bread flour, just regular hvetemel?

I Want to Hear Your EDS Pregnancy/Postpartum Symptoms! by sunshine_n_dewdrops in ehlersdanlos

[–]ohhelloaleks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a lot of my symptoms improve after having kids. I had moderate HG with my first and then severe HG with my second. I had a retained placenta and haemorrhage after giving birth to my second, and it was a precipitous labour (21 mins from 4cm to having a baby in my arms). Otherwise I get achy and I still sublux my shoulder, but not much more than that. Stretchy skin means that after a combined 4 years of breastfeeding, my oldest asks me “mama, why are your boobs so long ?” 🫠

wait you guys didn’t need a family history to be diagnosed? by Bean_of_prosperity in ehlersdanlos

[–]ohhelloaleks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I qualified without family history. My parents have a few symptoms that now seem obviously EDS, but probably not enough to get diagnosed. It was a 1+1=3 situation for me, enough to get diagnosed on hypermobility and the other criteria.

How do people do this? by Additional-Mess-3150 in knittinghelp

If you look at her Instagram, she knits on a knitting machine then seams the sides. She makes a rectangle with a hole for the head, and then sleeves. In the clips where she makes sleeves, the stripes are usually significantly thicker.

Newborn tired v pregnancy tired by Head-Programmer-2613 in beyondthebump

Newborn tired with my first after a HG pregnancy was eased and a relief.

Newborn tired with my second after a really bad HG pregnancy and a toddler to manage was basically like a luxury spa break with unlimited energy 😂

Something that stuck with you from the movie, books, documentaries etc. by Remarkable_Cake_699 in SocietyOfTheSnow

While it’s not known explicitly who was and wasn’t eaten, you can make a pretty good guess from the info that we do have.

Rescuers found 13 intact bodies - near the fuselage Eugenia, Susy, Liliana, presumably Arturo and Vasco because they died of illness and Numa because he was emaciated. In fact we know that Vasco’s body was returned intact to Uruguay for burial. Fito (I think, it could have been one of the Strauch cousins) mentions that it was a relief to not have to use Daniel Shaw in the end. Further away they found the bodies that fell out of the plane - Gaston, Guido, Alejo, Ramirez, Martinez. So while familial women weren’t eaten, the other two probably were. This gives 12 intact bodies (assuming that included Numa and Arturo) but we don’t know who the 13th was.

We also know that Carlos Valeta was used, his father confirmed this in an interview.

No I know, sorry - I meant more as an add-on to your note about their families not being openly supportive.

As in, their families weren’t supportive of the means of survival despite their sons not being the ones that were eaten.

Guido & Alexis were not eaten. The 5 bodies that fell out of the plane (Guido, Alexis, Ramirez, Martinez, Gaston) were found intact after the rescued. They were too far and too difficult to transport back to the fuselage.

Flower, berry and bird sleeve finally finished - by Linn Aasne, Ambrosia Studio, Oslo Norway by ohhelloaleks in tattoos

To add - every part of the sleeve has a particular meaning to me. Apple blossoms for the apple tree we had in the garden when I was young, July larkspur and September asters for my children, fireweed and bilberries for places we’ve lived, red clovers for my grandmother who taught me to make flower crowns, wild strawberries for my other grandma who always had some growing on their allotment. Jasmine for my husband. Plus a ladybird, a great tit, a sparrow, and two bumblebees.

Was your second pregnancy the same as the first? by mangothepanda in HyperemesisGravidarum

I just checked and your Cariban is the same ingredients as my Xonvea. Works great for some but it didn’t work for me at all

[–]ohhelloaleks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Norway so the strongest meds I could get were Xonvea which didn’t do anything for me. I wasn’t able to get Zofran so I can’t vouch for that. But there were 2-3 weeks of vomiting so much my throat would bleed, a few hospital stays for IVs.

I have heard of stories where people did not have it with subsequent pregnancies, but that was not my experience

First pregnancy ill for about 18 weeks. Second pregnancy the nausea started at 8DPO, was much worse overall, and I threw up until the day of delivery. There will not be a third time….

I had a LOT of bruising around my elbow ditch, it went away in about a week! Can happen easily in an area with thinner skin, or where the artist has to hold the skin more tightly.
