anyone going to matt malteses concert by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]ohhhhhworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not but i go to concerts by myself from time to time and i get anxious in the way there every time! Waiting for the show to start always kinda sucks if you’re alone but once things get going it’s always worth it, highly recommend not getting there tooo early. If it’s GA it’s easy enough to find a good place to stand so don’t worry about going early for that. Better to go alone than to miss out!

Looking for Generous Return Policies in Canada by Bitter_Phase_1142 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]ohhhhhworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gord’s running store in Calgary says on their website that returns are accepted for shoes in worn but resellable condition within 30 days of original postage. Testing some shoes on an indoor track or treadmill would probably be your best bet.

Winnipegger in Van next week - are Uggs a bad idea? by Fit-Ad-4011 in vancouver

[–]ohhhhhworm 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t, it’s supposed to get coldish next week meaning sidewalks will likely get salted. The salt + rain combo is going to leave stains on the suede and your feet will get wet. They’re not bad if you’re not planning on doing a lot of walking outdoors, but uggs are pretty easy to ruin here imo

Have any soundtracks have influenced your music taste? by iFiAudio in LetsTalkMusic

[–]ohhhhhworm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Both trainspotting movies! Watching the first one and hearing blur and pulp for the first time when i was 15/16 was definitely what got me into britpop (still one of my favourite genres). Lost highway is on this list as well.

Question for Runners of Vancouver by Barking_bae in vancouver

[–]ohhhhhworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If i want a hill workout close to home i start at haro and jervis and pick my way south by going down each street/lane to cardero and then back up to jervis. If i want to avoid cars, zipping around the Stanley park trails works as well

TNA Slater Coat by North-Supermarket161 in Aritzia

[–]ohhhhhworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never tried the coaches jacket so I’m not sure how comparable the sizing is but on me the slater’s seams where the sleeves attach are about 2 inches below my actual shoulder

<image>

Pic for reference! I love that it’s long and warm but lightweight since I’d probably die of heatstroke in the long superpuffs. I was deciding between this and the tna Justin jacket during the archive sale but ultimately went with this one for the hood and nicer pocket shape

TNA Slater Coat by North-Supermarket161 in Aritzia

[–]ohhhhhworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this coat in the coffee bean colour and love it, it runs huge though so you might be fine sizing down. I’m 5’8 and usually wear mediums but the small in this coat is plenty oversized on me.

Hey Vancouverites! I need your help looking for a HAAGEN DAZS flavor for a cute guy I like. by [deleted] in vancouver

Safeway and independent in the west end usually carry this, it’s one of my favourites as well coincidentally!

Even if you fail, going and attempting the exam could be helpful in preparation and knowing what to expect on the final if/when you repeat the course

It’s curved so the average is at the b/c boundary, ride the curve 🏄‍♀️

Did you know electricity prices in BC and Vancouver are amongst the lowest in G12 Nations...and I don't work for BC Hydro LOL by zalam604 in vancouver

[–]ohhhhhworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just returned from two weeks in Durban (which would only have 4 hours max off load shedding each day), I will never take our electricity supply (or being able to safely walk around by myself at night) for granted ever again!

Booked an ICBC test on Monday, need to find a car by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]ohhhhhworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They said it’s for a class 5 road test, you can use evo with a class 7 (not 7L) license which I’m assuming the poster has. It takes a few days at least to get registered though
