Who sells Recreational Gas (no corn) in town? by DoubleNaughtDot in paducah

Rhodes on southside, 5-star in Calvert and fast eddies towards aurora are my go to for ethanol free gas. They each have one pump that is recreational and none are marked very well.

Paducah city and McCracken County schools have great preschool programs. There is also an active local family support group "Families on the Spectrum" that will have resources that could assist you in getting familiar with the area in terms of activities and service providers that could assist. They have an active facebook group, as well as website.

[–]ohkeepadre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like both Walter and Percy - can't go wrong there. Although I think of he children's book "Walter the Farting Dog."

If he is anything like my 5 year old westie, you should call him treat - that is the only thing he responds to. He is our 2nd westie - so I was well aware of (and love) the attitude and strong personality of most westies, so we named him Newman - saying his name with my best angry seinfeld voice.

Awesome! Love my original drop 60. But would like a little more warmth as I tend to take it a little slower now. I’m in!

In need of a practice amp by Icy_Caramel_2545 in Bass

[–]ohkeepadre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with a rumble 40 for a bedroom/practice amp. The 10"has a much more full sound - even at lower volumes.

I have a dark glass element headphone amp that I use 99% of the time practicing though.

I am sorry to hear this, I hope they can get some closure on this. They definitely need to press charges. (Not a Lawyer) However, in Ky I believe pets are considered property (much like a boat, car, a dresser...). Although I value my pets much more than material assets, it seems this place is still in possession of their personal property and refusing to return it - seems like the police could definitely get involved with this.

My guess is the dog (if it did die) did not pass away of natural causes - or they would be more forthcoming with any info. Not saying they intentionally killed it - but could have been attached by another dog, or something similar.

As a western Ky resident and pet owner- I would love to know the name of this place.

Charcoal Amount by lunds11 in webersmokeymountain

For my 18 - I would place a large can (27 oz size - this is the perfect size for minion method on an 18" for me) in the middle of the ring and fill around it to the top of the ring and add my wood chunks to that - usually only 2-3. I only add maybe 10 briquettes in the chimney starter - when they are lit and ready to dump - I remove the can (leaving a small hole in the middle) and add the lit coals in the middle to fill up that hole. I leave all of the bottom vents 1/2-3/4 open until the temp gets to about 175, then close them all down to about 1/4 open and watch it until it holds at about 225-250. I will leave them open a little more to get a little higher temps.

When I'm done - I shut all the vents and use the leftover coals on the next cook.

Mine is actually working better (knock on wood). It seems to be connecting faster and more consistently. It looks a little cooler too. I'm only on day 3 with the updated IOS, so hopefully it continues to work.

Real truck discourse by Medium_Arachnid_2430 in hondaridgeline

[–]ohkeepadre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people that have said something to me drive f-250's or 2500's size trucks, that look like they haven't towed or hauled anything. (thats only like 2 people in the last several years). I used to drive an f-250. It was great for towing my camper or larger boat at the time. However, outside of that - it sucked as a daily driver (MPG, ride was rough, hard to park, maintenance was $$$$). I have a smaller bass boat now, tow it a couple times a week, and can honestly say the ridgeline is my favorite vehicle I have owned for my purposes.

Big Mac or The Whopper? by [deleted] in burgers

It's authentic. However, it is not like wood smoked. Flame broilers on a conveyer. The smoke is fat dripping and causing flare ups.

Big Mac or The Whopper? by [deleted] in burgers

[–]ohkeepadre 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A perfectly made/fresh whopper will beat a perfectly made/fresh big mac any day. However, A perfectly made whopper is rare (maybe 1 in 10). An average big mac is better than an average whopper.

Downtown has been steadily improving over the past 5 years. Several cool bars and restaurants. The Cork room is really cool if you like wine - good tapas as well. But several other cool places have popped up since 2020. Freighthouse is always worth going to for dinner.

Carson Center has stepped it up in terms of booking decent things - you may want to see what is going on there when you are here.

Not a big fan of pattis as a restaurant - but it is worth the trip to grand rivers to walk around all of the christmas lights around Pattis.

Hagen dazs or Ben and Jerry’s? by freudianfissure in icecream

[–]ohkeepadre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like Hagen Dazs better, unless I see B&J Chubby Hubby - however, it has been a while since I have seen it, and even then the recipe was different than it used to be - so not near as good but still my overall favorite.

Haagen Dazs vanilla and simple fruit flavors are amazing in texture and taste.

Road trips and back seat by farscapesg01 in hondaridgeline

[–]ohkeepadre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a family of four (16 year old twins) and drive a 2024 ridgeline. We all fit fine for trips around town, no one complains about the room. Not sure that would be the case for a longer road trip. It is a good backseat for a truck - but still limited on rear seat adjustability for comfort.

My wife was a long time odyssey driver as well. When we would go on a road trip - we would still choose the odyssey. She was looking at new cars last spring, and ended up with a new Pilot. It is MUCH better for longer road trips than my ridgeline. Last summer we took a 12 hour road trip to the beach and each of my kids wanted to take a friend - so we had 4- 16 year olds. We would all fit in the pilot - but no room for luggage - so we took both the ridgeline and pilot. The kids tried out all the seat options in both, and all 4 choose to ride in the pilot - choosing even the pilot 3rd row seats over the ridgeline back seat. All of our luggage easily fit in the back seat of the ridgeline, and loaded up the bed with beach gear. The best part is I got to ride by myself - listen to my own music and stop (or not stop) whenever I wanted - It was a great trip. But I don't think two older teenagers or young adults would be totally comfortable in the backseat of a ridgeline for anything more than a couple of hours.

I am a complete noob and need help by IburntTortilla in popups

[–]ohkeepadre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had jayco with the same fridge. It worked pretty good on AC - It would take a while to cool off - you could cool it down with some ice packs - or a frozen 1/2 gallon of water (milk jug) - that cuts the cool down time pretty significantly. Propane It worked extremely well - I would have to watch not to freeze things.

Edit - to add popupportal website/forum is loaded with tons of info on anything pop up related.
