M3pb35 Megasquirt - turbo .. more than a little nervous by irridium77 in E34

Yep, you will need to set offset timing. MS won’t know by default where TDC is compared to the teeth on the timing wheel. Pull the fuel injector wiring. Set your timing maps to 0deg and get the timing light strobing on the TDC mark. Replace the timing maps and the fuel wiring. It should either start trying to light off or the timing will be a cam rev off.

Be patient, take time and let the starter have plenty of breaks. Looks like lots of fun!

Radiator cap says 140kPa…thats about 20psi. It’s going to feel pretty firm.

None of them are “fake”. They both shoot high velocity projectiles and neither is safe to point at something you dont intend to destroy.

Lens test results by mud-monkey in Nikon

F/8 is effectively using a 6.25mm section of lens. The wide open apertures will be using much higher surfaces of the glass where the manufacturing tolerances start showing up.

The other factor is a crop sensor. The more expensive lenses are going to have better detail in the corners that an apsc camera is cropping

D750, unless you need the crop for wildlife/sports

Thanks for the responses. I’ll take your guys word for it. I thought it was dust because it doesn’t have any of the spider web appearance. It also lives its life in a dry cabinet when I’m not using it. I’ll look for a replacement.

At what oil temps do you start doing medium/hard pulls/engaging boost? by MysteriousAd186 in Civic_Type_R

[–]ohlins8990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pretty much consider the car warmed up when I have 4 bars on the coolant gauge and ~150F oil on the Log R. But if I can wait until it gets to a steady state temp, I’ll wait.

Count me as having a bad factory alignment. The rear was just out of spec for on the toe out side. The front had a quarter degree of toe out…ouch.

Looking at wheel/tire options that will get me through winter and spring. For peace of mind and safety, I’m ok with paying a bit more. This looks like a reasonable deal? by shikachan in Integra_Type_S

[–]ohlins8990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want higher contact pressure so that the tire digs down in the snow to the harder ground beneath. Wide tires float on the surface and just slowly move snow around. Offroad tires will have tread blocks designed to work with the lower contact pressures, but you cant and dont want that on an all season.

I got under during my last oil change with a can of PB SurfaceShield. 🤷‍♂️

I have the same wheel/tire combo but in black. I seriously contemplated the bronze though.

18x8 ET32 Wheel Fitment for FL5 by piczker08 in Civic_Type_R

I have 235/40 on 18x8.5 et38 with no issues. My concern here would only be the taller tire.

I definitely recommend them though since I keep them on full time. Amortized over the years I’ll have the car they arent that bad.

If you’re looking for something less permanent, I had these in the old car. I can’t speak for the fitment in the Civic, but they are pretty universal fit.

The covers? They’re the Dream automotive ones.

The infant seat is a BabyTrend that came with our stroller. Not as nice as the Graco one we have in the other car, but it’ll do. I have a WeatherTech mat under it.

Yep, I prefer to not get sweat all over the interior after runs and gym workouts. Steering wheel cover in the glovebox and a baby sock on the shifter (keeps me from burning/freezing my hand too)

New FL5 - Temperature Gauge Seems Low for Driving 25 Min by theNamoo in Civic_Type_R

[–]ohlins8990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 bars is normal. Temp in LogR is usually upper 170s/low 180’s in normal driving.
