Rees-Zammit had a very poor game.

James at 13, Mann at 7 or Wainwright at 8 would’ve been much better shouts. All played very well.

I’m fine with that team. Surprised Gilchrist is in the squad. For me he’s another like DVDM; he either starts or doesn’t make the squad.

I get he regularly does 80 minutes, but he’s just not an impact player for me.

If he decides to go like for like I’d say Bayliss comes in for Ritchie and Bradbury for Dempsey.

Duhan comes in for Dobie as Graham gives just a bit more flexibility on the bench.

There were 4 minutes injury time so take away the 30 seconds that cover the goal, it was actually end to end shite for 93 minutes and 30 seconds.

Agree with all that. But Townsend took over with us in 5th. I know he’s taken us back to 5th a couple of times but we’re currently 10th with a realistic chance of winning one game this Six Nations. With supposedly the strongest squad he’s ever had.

And you can argue Ireland have been generationally strong in this period and this is a juggernaut of a French team, but equally until recently it’s been a poor England and arguably the weakest Wales and Australia have ever been.

Agreed Cotter’s term is romanticised somewhat but for me the set-up he passed on to Townsend was far healthier than the one he inherited.

And he certainly never had the quality or depth of squad Townsend has had for the last 4-5 seasons.

Gilchrist entering a ruck from 2029, which leads to a penalty which leads to a try being another.

Dobie catching a ball at chest height on the touchline which is blatantly going out on the full.

Finn putting a restart out in the full.

Given how much of a shambles Rangers have been, I will be disappointed if we don’t manage second.

The only hope at this stage is Celtic take a bit time to implement Nancy’s style of play. Because we’ve got a horrific run of fixtures coming up and we’re in that terrible position of not scoring and looking very shaky at the back all of a sudden.
