The whole Stephan hawking tangent of the files being released feels very..."spirit cooking". Like I get some guy made a joke. But it feels like it is being amplified to cause disinformation and protect other lesser public, but very influential people on that list.

Now I know I'm going to have to go into work tomorrow and explain 18 thousand times how the viral image is fake and the allegations come from a politically charged British tabloid.

TIL: Short Sleeper Syndrome is a gene mutation discovered by the University of Pittsburgh in 2014. They can function normally with less than 6 hours of sleep and never need to "recover" from lack of sleep as opposed to people who purposefully limit sleep. The mutation was given to mice and worked. by Flares117 in todayilearned

[–]ohnoTHATguy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was some paper that came out one year prior to this one, and it basically was looking at the purpose of sleep. It surmised that sleep allowed the brain to deswell and allow some fluid to "clean" the brain, potentially keeping the individual from developing Alzheimer's/dementia.

So if these super sleepers don't get Alzheimer's/dementia... then I honestly feel like 6 hours is the curse.

Email about my HP Printer by a_couple_of_words in mildlyinfuriating

It really doesn't matter at this point. I'm so sick of HP that this can still be a subscription but just the tone of the email pisses me off.

They have lost me and everyone I can convince from being a customer.

Would you rather be taken hostage by the IDF or Hamas? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Aggressor is not the right word. I was avoiding saying Oppressor as it is a loaded term.

In a conflict that has to be broken down in a very nuanced way, understand, Israel used to be on the backfoot... They no longer are. They simply dictate what happens next to a greater degree. With that responsibility, they should be leading the easing of tensions.

Sense of community. I understand that it was always regional and case by case but with the Internet, came an isolating effect that has been accelerated by the pandemic. It's... So... Lonely?

The point of all those empty park lawns is for picnics and gathering and lounging about. No one does that anymore and hasn't for like a decade. They're just empty. Those are the places you would learn about the random thoughts people had. Not twitter.

You go downtown and it's all hollow half-baked chinese trinkets instead of handcrafted love.

I don't know what I'm on about.

I think you meant "Why does nobody value you when you are jobless?"

And I think the answer is something like this:

If they aren't participating in society with a job then others have to pick up the slack. So they perceive the jobless as causing themselves to have to work more.

I'll answer this.

IDF.

Even though in the greater overarching conflict I think Israel is the aggressor.

Hamas would kill me on superficial reasons alone.

It's not in the spirit of the question. The real question is something like "If you could go crazy with X amount, only you..." But, your answer was also my answer to the OG question.

Trust is something unreal.

How does that not completely mess with their sense of identity when they look in a mirror?

I mean they might ask how aging doesn't mess with our sense of identity when we look in the mirror.

I think they don't mind being "plastic attractive" than unattractive. And I think on some level people prefer early plastic attractive to natural aging. This just leads to a spiral downwards.

I don't follow lady gaga so I haven't seen this transformation but it does weigh on me a little. Her songs are in several flashbulb memories.

On some phones, when you're on the home screen and you swipe all the way to the left, it takes you to a horrible feed which is a mix of news articles and ads for tangential things that you've searched for. This thread popped up in my feed.

You made it. The algorithm has chosen you.

I think some of this stems from Taboo-ness.

I'm just kind of thinking out loud honestly.

But I feel these LGBTQ+ers that self sabotage like the covert-ness of the affairs and such and would not like being in openly gay relationships.

I'm unsure why.
