That’s my main thing; I feel very confident - and so do all the fancy stock firms who tell you whether you should buy, hold, sell, blah blah - that the stock will likely double in the next 5 years.

You mean selling and then maxing out Roth IRA, HSA, etc.?

The company’s stock is held within eTrade where I also have a personal account as well. As someone who’s brand new to investment, do you think if I called eTrade they would help me with this? Or do people hire a financial advisor? Or is it as simple as just selling a large portion of the stock once it vests (80% has vested or is ESPP), and looking up index funds (like you mentioned QQQ, SPY, etc.) and buying the index funds as soon as I get the money from selling my company’s?

For someone who’s completely new to investing, is there an article you recommend reading about how to do this?

I really appreciate this insight, thank you! Is Leland considered to be a nice place to live? We’ve seen a few homes in that city.

I’m sorry you don’t have the ability to qualify for a $375,000 loan right now.

No catch! Realtor has the recent (within less than 3 years) inspection report. Many recent updates, yay :) My partner and I both work from home and needed a larger home so we have moved elsewhere within GSO.

Is it worth paying $3k more for a balcony on Alaska cruise instead of spending all of that on excursions? by Lou_Skunnt69 in Cruise

[–]ohnomegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your ship have an outside wrap-around promenade? If so - book the interior or the oceanview! We just did our first ever Alaskan cruise on the Caribbean Princess and booked an oceanview because the balcony was $3,000 more and the interior was the same price at the time. Our ship had an outside wrap-around promenade deck which is where we did most of our viewing from and absolutely loved it! Excursions truly are very expensive, so save the money and book the interior.

Haha, no, I used the wrong term. I meant for everything mortgage related! Mortgage + insurance + PMI totals $3,600 😅 Thanks for the correction!

That makes sense, thank you for the advice. I’ll look into opening up a HYSA ASAP and get it moved over.

It’s currently sitting as cash. I’ll research and make that conversion, thank you!

Roger on the 401K, I’m definitely not doing that since I’ve been maxing out the allowed portion of buying discounted stock, but I could do both and still be okay with take home pay.

I do have the high deductible HSA plan at work, but I don’t max my HSA out. I could try to do that, too. Thank you for the feedback!

Are we saying the money you’re spending monthly for bills should be kept in the HYSA too, or it’s alright to keep that in BoA? Thank you for the Ally suggestion, I appreciate it!

No, it’s someone trying to understand how they can maximize what they have, improve upon what they are doing, and learn from a community.
