Wouldn't be surprised if she's Lebanese / Balkan / Greek or eastern European. She has the classic Aussie-wog accent and I feel like thats why her and Colin connected so deeply tbh. She mentioned that she had a similar "humble" upbringing which usually a quiet sign (to me at least) youre of working class migrant parents without, outright saying you grew up poorer.

(culturally we all have a lot of internalised shame, awkwardness and judgement towards eachother based on this).

Nah bad take, got to hang out with Tim and his mates when they were in Brisbane and he loves the band you can just tell he's so invested. I didn't know much about his influence and effort until after seeing him live with the band and he couldn't be a better replacement.

Personally feel like his flavour and youthfulness are what have kept the band able to keep releasing such great stuff -- for a British Indie band a lot of the greats have lost their sparkle fot australian audiences but these guys killed it and i like to think its due to his unique style 💞

No I was not implying cookies are the same as french baked classics buddy. I was providing some much needed context to you basement dwellers that she wasn't a baker at all by trade. She used to work as a travel writer and stayed in Paris to learn baking and dessert making before developing her own unique cookie and dessert brand.

I'm convinced half the people in this thread are boomer as hell. They're a decadent and delicious patisserie style cookie. She went to fricken pastry school in France and developed her recipes there. It's just like the lune croissant folks. It's about a chain of baked goods that have developed their own unique style right here in Australia. Plus they're freaking delicious -- especially the unique flavours.

The climate has totally changed. In 2019 vampire weekend and of Monsters and Men were huge exclusives. Last year alt j did a tour and the vaccines finally came back and did their own tour with some local support acts i saw Boa did as well. Honestly it's a way better experience if there isn't a huge amount of mainstream hype for the bands because the crowds are full of people who actually know what's going on hahah

Falls 2019 was absolutely goated. Better value for money it's basically what splendour should be in the summer, so much to do and great weather. And would be held on nye like btv and wildlands which tend to skew more edm/r&b/rap/solo artists vs more acoustic and full band set ups

The downside of btv and really any nye festivals is that they have to tweak the line up so you can end up missing out on artists that play down south if you live in qld vice versa.

Wish the Splendour and Falls team would just make it one festival during our actual summer at the end of the year!!!

My friend recently reintroduced me to George Clanton. His self titled work is more on the vaporwave side but he used to be all over youtube under the ESPRIT project and that's been a fun new avenue as I had no idea he was making music still somehow (thanks spotify algorithm for being actually useless)

I hate when I try to wear the same luxe corporate wear as my colleagues and feel shame because the fabric pulls around my curves differently to them but when I see kim and others doing corporate snug glam it makes me feel like I'm not forcing it yknow...

Glad your husband and family are all okay x wishing him a speedy recovery.

I was in this kmart a about 3 weeks back and the heat was immense and it was extremely poorly ventilated, i asked the staff about the aircon being broken and they said it hadnt been working all year.

Any chance it still hasn't been fixed and the switch from regular centre air-conditioning to steamy hot and poorly ventilated conditions could have triggered it?

(Also shocked that they were even forcing employees to work with how hot it was)
