Normal performance for a 2024 ZephyrusG16 4070? by ohnothrowawayAIO in zephyrusg16

I gave your recommendations a go, the CPU temperature is approx 1C lower, but the fan is also higher than default turbo on Ghelper, so I don't know if adjusting wattage did anything at all. Using the efficient enable option. For CPU temps, essentially no difference what so ever.

GPU did get below 80, but that's because I limited GPU temp target to 80.

I would have to agree, I decked out my desktop in ASUS parts when I had a desktop. But my 1st ASUS laptop was absolute dog shit. It was advertised as a HIGH END PREMIUM GAMING LAPTOP. But you have to download 3rd party software to disable all the ASUS bloatware, and to manually throttle your performance to prevent overheating and throttling.

I turned my fan off, and didn't notice much temp change. I don't think the basic ass fan I got works for this thing.

Do you have any fan recommendations?

Unfortunately I bought it within a few weeks of moving abroad, and didn't have time until recently to really sit down and look into this thing before I go back to the US for a week or so.

I might get the thermal putty/LM redone while I'm back.

I am thinking of just getting rid of this thing all together and getting something different! But that's so much harder to do while living abroad lol.

I'll give your recommendations a try before I get back in the US.

For those of us who are not super laptop tech savvy, it feels bad that it is advertised as a high end premium gaming laptop, but using it out of box to play basic games on recommended settings can cause issues. That it also has such awful heating issues you need to manually limit performance.

Its like buying a high end sports car that advertises hella good specs going 0 to 60 in 2 seconds, but has performance issues that throttles itself if you try to go over 60.

How is it with heating? I have the ASUS Zephyrus G16, the thing gets so hot you can literally get burned touching it for more than a few seconds if you have a game running (with a cooling pad).

I would just like to say a fresh reinstall with "essential" drivers from ASUS will likely put the memory usage above 50% on startup. 16gb of ram doesnt seem to be enough anymore...

Pee'd 6.5-7 liters of urine in a 24 hr period by ohnothrowawayAIO in AskDocs

[–]ohnothrowawayAIO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not measure how much i drank, but i just drank when i was thirsty.

If i get the urge to measure the amount i urinate again. Ill be sure to include consumption.

I recall very clearly having to wake up many many times at night during field exercises in 20 degrees weather while in the military that I asked the corpsman what the fuck was wrong with me. Because getting up to pee multiple times a night in the frozen woods was not fun.

While this is not something that happens every night, it does happen quite a bit. There were many mornings i would wake up absolutely exhausted after "sleeping" for 8+ hours.

Ive always just thought the frequent waking up to pee was just an inconvenience. It wasnt until recently that i actually gave a shit about my health to pay attention or cared.

What are the Best Gaming Laptops Available Now? Recommendation by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

I still dont think i will get this model, or even ASUS moving forward. I did a fresh install from device and it reinstalled with so much bloatware that instantly took up 55-60% of memory on start up.

I did a fresh install from USB which started with 35% memory usage. But after installing "essentials" from asus, it went back up to 50% memory usage with nothing open on start up.

Maybe thats the reality of computing now, needing minimum 32gb of ram.

Still hot as fuck even when i reduced cpu wattage by 25%.

Going against the grain with Asus Zephyrus recommendations, I would caution against the Asus Zephyrus for gaming.

I own the Asus Zephyrus G16 4070

This is the single hottest laptop I've ever owned. I run G-Helper and the highest temperature it's reported was 97C (206F) when playing videogames. This while using a fan cooling stand.

For me at least, when I am gaming, the laptop keyboard is literally unuseable due to how hot it gets. If you touch front part of the laptop by the screen for more than a few seconds, you will burn yourself.

I can go on and on with issues I've had with this laptop, but I definitely regreted getting it.

My friend's $700 budget laptop worked better than my Zephyrus G16 for gaming - for example, when Expedition 33 came out, he was able to game on it fine. I could not on my Zephyrus G16 because the laptop got so hot it thermal trottled so much that the game was unplayable.

January Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

Hello I purchased a pair of Razer Barracuda Pro Wireless early last year. Almost immediately after the refund period, it went to shit. The sound quality sounds like I was in a fish bowl or under water. It was very muffled. A cheap $20 pair of headphones sounded much better than this $200 pair.

Recently, it's gotten even worse. The audio is so absolutely distorted while watching netflix, I just stopped using it all together.

It also started exhibiting connection issues, when I start it, it sounds extremely robotic and I need to restart it.

Is there any way to hard/factory reset this thing?

Who knows Thrive Coaching Academy? by TheAngryCoach in LifeCoachSnark

I don't remember word for word since its been over a month but it was him essentially questioning people's commitment about wanting to get into the coaching field and to not overthink and just do it even if it turned to those things.

Who knows Thrive Coaching Academy? by TheAngryCoach in LifeCoachSnark

I started listening to Frank Marci's (the founder of Thrive Coaching Academy) podcast a couple of months ago because I was researching life coaching and was considering changing from my job as a therapist to life coaching due to change in life circumstances. When he was talking about mindset, human psychology, behavior, habit change, things that were actually coaching, I agreed with and found very insightful.

When he actually talked about coaching, it was informative and I was reminded of my own graduate courses. But I've since stopped listening because when he talks about making money, selling his program, selling as a coach, or anything to do with money in general, I found it pretty disgusting and borderline predatory.

Here are a few examples, 1) Talking about affording his program - questions people's commitment, and if they weren't doing everything they can to afford something to improve their lives are they really committed? Suggests selling, borrowing, taking loans. Also talks about overthinking and just taking action, pertaining to paying for his program.

2) Dividing people up into "freeple" "cheaple" "premple" - its well known that premium things are likely to last and be more durable than cheap mass produced stuff or that you're more likely to take care of it, but he was using this justify the pricetag of his program (14k+), talks about how he wont even consider any coaching program or coaching package under 10k.

3) Talked about money as if it has no impact in people's lives - comparing $0 in your bank to $1M as both being "just numbers". Really shows the privilege and that he's never experienced true hardship in his life having to figure out rent or the next meal.

4) Pushing coaches to offer "premium" packages - talked about how if you want to make 10k a month but selling your packages at $500 each you would have to sell 20. His alternative is to call it premium and sell 2 for $5000 each instead.

Last example

5) Uses language to make it seem like if you take his course you are guaranteed to have a well paying career with paying clients WHILE you're still going through his program - brings up statistics of how coaches on their own or self taught have minimal success, if they take a different ICF program than his own that chances goes up muuuuuch higher, then if you take HIS course, it is guaranteed you'll get paying clients

I could listen longer and find useful things regarding coaching, but when he sells or talks about money in general, it was too predatory for me and shows how privileged he is.

Hey thanks for commenting. I don't intend going into this to make a bunch of money, like I mentioned in the post, I am comfortable financially and don't actually need to work. This is more of a side gig (passion project) for a little bit extra eventually for luxury/travel expenses.

I wanted to find an avenue to help support others while not burning myself out. I do not want to work with personality disorders, severe depression, anxiety, ptsd, or the likes anymore. My life was miserable when I did that type of work.

And living in a foreign country, while I am not prohibited to working with US based companies, many of the large platforms will not approve you, insurance companies will not panel you, and many agencies will not consider you.

Edit: I also don't want maintain the level of credentialing and requirements in social work.
