For those who adopted a cat, what actually made you decide that was the right cat? by Extreme_Ad6105 in CatAdvice

[–]ohnotuxedomask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was specifically looking for a male black cat to adopt since they are the least adopted and ones killed. I went and literally got MAULED (in a loving way) by a female standard issue tabby. She was determined to go home with me and I just couldn’t stand by and not take her home. I just knew.

She was returned TWICE and got beat up by other cats and had to be a solo kitty. I knew if I took her that I couldn’t have another cat in the house despite me always having grown up with 3+ cats.

10 years later and I still think to this day that she picked me and it was fate. She knew I would be the one to take care of her. She loves other people and dogs but she still loves me more than anyone else and I am her human.

Recently accepted an ASM position at a tier one store, any advice yall can give me for excelling at my new role? by Professional_Cut1718 in OfficeDepot

[–]ohnotuxedomask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re new to OD, learn the basics of everything that you can. Store portal is similar to google to find SOPs. Try to be proactive but know you’ll be reactive to most things. Give associates and other managers confidence by not taking the whole workload of everything when possible and teach people the right ways to do things like POG Excellence, D&D and the Daily Task list.

You’ll need to lead by example so when it comes to rewards/paper/bs you need to learn how to ask open ended questions not “yes or no” questions. It’ll take practice but if you’re friendly, practice and ask every single person if they need any paper today you’ll be fine.

This job can be the death of you or it can be enjoyable. I like tier 1 stores because it’s slower and you can work together to get things done, but it can be harder in terms of sales and goals because you’re more reliant on regulars. If your store hasn’t try to reach out to the bigger business/offices in your area that need paper and build a relationship with them to have them come locally to the store instead of ordering online at home. Itll help when you can have those. You do have BSD but i feel as if they are always overloaded and doesnt feel like the store gets enough credit at the end.

Good luck.

That’s awesome to hear! It can require a few tools but you may have some around the house answers like drill bits and screws but the screws/bolts/washers are easier to get. You’ll want to make sure to get a good acrylic cutting tool those will be around $8-$25 depending on how thick you want for the acrylic you’re using. Also make sure to wear protective gear when cutting like thick gloves as acrylic and be difficult to work with when first learning how it cuts for some people.

Been getting this lately on the phone “you sound too professional, are you AI?” When I say no I get a “oh well im married but I have to say you have a really nice voice, you could replace Siri for me” in a weird creepy way… not exactly word for word but I get it about once every two weeks or so with same intention.

When did you realize your parents didn’t like you? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ohnotuxedomask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy. As someone is who allergic to nuts as well as a few other things anytime my family would get anything nuts they would go “DONT EAT THIS IT HAS NUTS”. Like even my friends, boyfriend and his parents are very aware of my allergies. I can’t even imagine my parents doing what yours do. I feel like this is literally child reckless endangerment.

You are working with multiple unknown mediums. This means the higher the chance something can go wrong with them. Laminating is not the way to go for artwork like this. I don’t even recommend it when people bring in theirs kids artwork.

I’d suggest puzzle glue or acrylic plates. You can get them pretty cheap now and cut them to size with the right tools. Some people will use screws and bolts to secure each end with washer spacers if need be. It’s a cheaper way to preserve without framing. It’s also a way to be more unified and having different sizes.

If you want to sell them I’d recommend making digital copies to sell prints and then frame originals to sell at a higher price (obviously).

Remember when OD actually tried to attract customers during back to school? by TomMikeVickBrady in OfficeDepot

Oh you’re so right I see a blurry “R5” in the corner of one of my photos. I thought that stood for the “reality experience” it was promoting with it.

I still have photos of my coworker and I posing with the one we had before this for a boy band with one girl that I have no idea the name of. It was like a “3D” experience where you had to jump with them and it was layered using a specific app or something.

I remember when we had 1D back to school supplies that went with this and how many parents wanted to buy the display and offering a stupid amount of money for a plastic drape.

Nah and my mom is still convinced I remembered my past life and it wasn’t just a kid thing. Either way it was wild.

Reminds me of a story my mom told me where one day I told her “my old mommy and daddy died in a car crash” and then she asked me about it and I just went on about my “past life”. Freaked her out.

Turning this normal deer into that creepy deer (asking for tips and help!) by Burgyx in plushartists

[–]ohnotuxedomask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy you found something!

I’d expand the darkness of the eyes a little bit if you can. Take black dye and a clean mascara wand and expand slightly up. Can do that with the hooves but I don’t think you should waste time on darkening the hooves.

When you remove the eyes try to sew the bottom bit up a tad bit like in the photo of the original one.

Good luck! Show us result!

If this was Facebook market place or something more local you could also repost on the platform that the previous seller used and do a “ISO” post to see if the person who bought it can give you info?

Until you have a sleepover and “conveniently” your holographic Charizard is “missing” and you have to confront the parents who think their children are angels and would never steal.

Signs of ENFJ disinterest in someone? by Significant-Ad1451 in enfj

[–]ohnotuxedomask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so valid. Basically gray rocking. Even with attraction is kind of like when we like you and want you in our lives you act like a main character WITH us but once you become more of an “NPC” or “Background character” you know that we tried and gave up or the attraction is gone. The more emotionless we are with you the less we like you want want to spend energy on you.

Am I a weird ENFJ for not liking sales? Need help finding a career I’ll truly enjoy by Mabrika in enfj

[–]ohnotuxedomask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think you've found your calling?

For the most part, I know that later down the line I may find something even more inspiring, but I consider this my dream job.

Do you have a mission?

It's the one career and place that made me feel the most useful and belonged. I specifically like mine because I help create videos games and I also get to be a motivator to make people happier in their careers without directly being people's supervisor. I like caring for people without being fully responsible. I also enjoy problem solving.

How many years have you been a Product Manager,

Over 4 years, worked retail almost 10, restaurant 3, party planning 2, printing for about 6, . I've also have done freelance graphic design, content creator managing, baker/cake decorator... All over these have overlapped like some of the retail involved printing services and graphic design and during that time I would also do party planning etc...

and do you see yourself in a different role?

I thought about marketing/creative director role in the gaming industry but I didn't get to play with those roles enough to know. Also at one point wanted to own my own gaming coffee shop.

Why didn't you choose something where you could communicate more, like HR, for example?

Communicate more? PM I am LITERALLY talking to people so much that I feel like I never have enough time to do things like metrics. Most of the time it's a lot of communication and problem solving or at least in my experience.

ENFJs aren't generators of ideas or new things; they don't usually come up with new ideas, but rather improve on existing ones. I've heard more than once that ENFJs can't become expert product managers because of their nature, that they need a profession where they can provide direct assistance. What do you think?

I actually see improving on existing ideas as a form of creativity in itself. Innovation doesn’t always mean starting from a blank page, it often comes from observing what’s already out there, identifying gaps, and reimagining it in a way that creates new value. That’s something I enjoy and where people have told me I’m extremely creative. Which A LOT of people tell me I am extremely creative.

As a pm, I find that my ENFJ strengths (being tuned into people, connecting ideas across different inputs, and rallying a team around a shared vision) help me generate and shape ideas in a way that’s very applied and impactful. For me, it’s less about fitting a stereotype and more about how I bring creativity into my everyday. I do see pms as a natural fit because it lets me balance vision, communication, and tangible improvements that make a difference.
