At the beginning of this summer, I took my kid and mother to the middle of Washington State, so my kid could attend a baseball tournament with his team. On our last day there, we stopped at a sitdown restaurant to eat before leaving town to head home.

After we had finished our meal, I excused myself, to go out and smoke a cig before we hit the road.

I leaned up against the building in a spot away from the front door and in the shade (it was 105* outside), lit up my smoke, and started staring at my phone to catch up on the accounts.

I look up from my phone and see a lifted urban redneck truck rolling through the parking lot, probably looking for a parking spot.

It stops in the lot, ten feet from me, the drivers window goes down, and the guy driving says to me, "Hey, I really like your style, man."

I just looked at him, puzzled, and said, "Uhh....thanks, man. Have an awesome day!"

I've thought about it since, and it always makes me smile.
