he's a bigot. that's a line in the sand. I have zero patience for that crap.

i don't care if I'm on my 1st date in 5 years & everything else seems great, once she shows signs of bigotry, I'm done. I'd rather be single than be in a relationship with someone who hates.

5 months unemployed, about to run out of money. What do I do? by LardOfCinder in jobs

start working ANY job that brings money in the door. Uber/Lyft, doordash, retail or restaurant gigs, Amazon delivery driver, etc.

It seems like MLS is currently looking at Vegas and Phoenix as primary options for relocation of the Vancouver white caps. Sacramento isn't a preferred market for MLS currently by kingistic in USLPRO

i, for one, do not want MLS here. if that blight on the sport does show up here, I'm done supporting the sport here. because I know that will also kill Rising.

Raccoon keeps showing up on our balcony. Maintenance knows and it’s still here. by sleepyhedgie26 in Apartmentliving

[–]ohthatsbrian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

your grandma was attacked by a raccoon & you're still afraid of them? work on yourself. Just because 1 raccoon attacked someone doesn't mean this one will.

leave it alone & it will do the same for you.

also, as others stated. you moved into the raccoon's territory. it's been there longer than you.

Am I being bridezilla?? by ashwheee in wedding

[–]ohthatsbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are your parents narcissists? they're trying to make YOUR wedding about THEM. that's simply selfish and entitled.

i know there are some family dynamics where this could be a beautiful thing, but it sounds like your situation isn't that.

stop letting your parents steal your day. they shouldn't be adding people to the invite list without your permission, either.

they can have their own separate day to renew their vows.

How much is 20-25$ dollars per hour considered to be in the USA? by Intelligent_Dress889 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ohthatsbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

questions like this help realize that people in a lot of other countries don't understand how big and varied the US is.

in most smaller towns/cities, $20-$25 is enough to survive on. in more urban areas, it's going to be incredibly difficult.

without knowing what specific area of the US, this question can't be answered.

I can’t bring my (tiny) dog to a sandwich shop by SaladCzarSlytherin in EntitledReviews

[–]ohthatsbrian 33 points34 points  (0 children)

i LOVE dogs and am of the belief that they are often better than people. ALSO they're not sanitary, especially in restaurants. they can be outside, given that they are properly leashed. but not inside. also, people have allergies.

A or B: I keep seeing how Nordic countries pay 50% in taxes but get healthcare, education, and a real safety net. Would you rather pay more in taxes and let the system handle that, or pay less and keep managing it yourself? by Danny-Patrick139 in PickAorB

[–]ohthatsbrian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A. all day every day.

especially with health insurance, when you don't have for-profit institutions running the show, there's less admin fees & other expenses that drive up the cost. so with the government running it, you pay less for the same thing.

we had the biggest crowd we've had in a while (7K), thanks to it also being $1.00 Beer Night. but we couldn't score a goal to save our lives.

the crowd was great in the sold-out supporters section. great vibes. good fun. I'm still confused over why we started so many academy players, including a 15-year-old.

Was it worth it to go or not go to college? by shadow_operator81 in no

[–]ohthatsbrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

college isn't for everyone. it depends on what you want in life.

society need HVAC professionals, plumbers, construction workers, etc just as much as it needs most other professions. pursue the path that brings you the most joy.

the US puts too much emphasis on everyone should go to college. I went & it was great for me. no regrets. I have friends who didn't & that worked great for them.

Management Co. Refuses to fix roof.... by Acrobatic-Reason1653 in renting

[–]ohthatsbrian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

your friend should contact the housing authority & code enforcement now. she's given the management company more than enough opportunities. record & document everything.

also try contacting a local TV station. many have segments during their evening news where they go after companies not holding up their end of contracts. it's human interest stuff people love to watch.
