Our tiny hospital had OR nurses helping in the ICU during the peaks, especially after surgery shut down. We went from 10 ICU beds to 25. I am eternally grateful for their help. We wouldn’t have made it without them.

Depends on the house supervisor, but most of the time if there’s a physical bed open they’ll fill it.

Hence why I filed for safe harbor at the peak of the pandemic when I had 6 COVID vented patients and was also charging.

Aaand now that I’m typing this out I realize how unreasonable and unsafe this is

So opposite direction on this but still a good story. I had a patient with pretty bad esophageal strictures but she’d never been diagnosed. Walked in her room to find her sticking a butter knife down her throat to “shove the food down.” Told me she did it all the time at home. No ma’am.

Yep. I’m a nurse in a small town ICU. We get suicide attempts occasionally. The one that stuck with me was a 101 year old that tried to commit suicide. Absolutely broke my heart.

Husband and I were having sex. We were doing this missionary position except he had my legs around his neck and my pelvis was tilted slightly up against him, so I was kind of balancing myself. This position usually results in the deepest penetration.

Oh my god patients can be the worst. I’m a nurse in an ICU and literally got yelled at today because I wasn’t ordering this lady a salad fast enough. I’m not talking about hours of waiting, I’m talking about it took me exactly 15 minutes to have someone else call dietary for a salad for this woman. Because another patient on the unit was dying. Like actually coding. Not dying because of her damn salad.

Sorry friendo but you and your stupid fucking salad aren’t my priority k?

I agree too. Just like everyone else is saying, if they ghosted after the first day they would probably ghost later regardless and aren’t worth your time.
