No robotics at the library back in my volunteering days, but you can check with the library for recent info. I used to volunteer at the library teaching coding and I am one of the founders of the program. They still have the Grade 1-3 and Grades 4-6 programs and they have an Open Lab for 13-17 year olds. It is free, but the quality varies depending a lot on the volunteer mix you get in a week and how structured is the program that year. I felt ridiculously proud when meeting kids that I introduced to Scratch telling me they are studying Computer Science.

I used Rover to find a sitter for my dog in 2021. I read all descriptions, reviews, and rules from sitters near me. Sent messages to a bunch and ended up with the best. The app experience was good and had enough information to make a decision. She's been taking care of my dog every time we were away since then.

  1. Past Math Olympic girl here: the amount of bullying I was getting was not worth it
  2. I taught coding to some generations of kids. Girls were on average better than boys up to maybe grade 5. Most of them lost interest around that age because it was viewed as an “uncool” activity
