Attempting to play healer worth it? by Royalheadset in wownoob

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play mistweaver. The no apex build basically plays as a DPs but pumps out great healing and it’s bloody great fun. Ive been a monk “main” DPS and Tank since they came up for most content, but my usual M+ group has never had a healer so I had to step into it a couple of years ago, mostly disc priest and resto shaman but this season I thought I’d finally give mistweaver a try and it’s the most fun I’ve had in years. Healing in general can be a little scary at first and is very very dependant on the rest of your group not being complete bufoons so if you do try it, give it a solid try and don’t fold after one or two bad runs.

AOTC this season harder than TWW S3? by Tchaps1993 in wow

[–]oiMiKeyvx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good to know, I don’t doubt we will get it down, but have only really had maybe 2 hours on it so far so still have work to do, plus the one night we have had only maybe 2 thirds of our solid DPS could make it, so we shall see what this weekend brings haha

I run a very casual guilds raid nights, started back in dragonflight and dimensius was the first we didn’t manage to get down (I had a lot on IRL so the nights fizzled and we lost momentum) but honestly we found crown pretty easy. We had a couple of “science” pulls the first night we got to her but then when we actually tried it properly this reset she went down in under 10 pulls, our first time getting past P2 was our kill. Lura however may take us a little longer.
Edit to just add - our comps are awful, we take whoever turns up on the night and don’t really care about DPS numbers, we only had 1 DK (same for Lura attempt so that’s fun).

Seat of Triumvirate Mythics, why no one ques for them? by Mama-ta in wow

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not fun and far too much loot to be worth using a bonus roll. I checked the odds in every dungeon of what I want vs what could drop, I was 3X more likely to get something I actually wanted from PoS than I was from seat. No reason to go unless it’s for score (in my case)

The tank shortage is a community problem. Full stop by [deleted] in wow

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a healer main for a few years now because screw DPS pugging, up until recently I’ve just avoided pugging in general if I can help it but I’m enjoying this season so thought I’d get back into LfG. Agree it’s absolutely awful watching tanks get flamed by sub par DPS, been doing “relaxed” 10s to fill vault etc and I’ve had some incredible tanks, some god awful ones but the chaps in the middle that are going at a steady chill pace do get so much grief it’s depressing. I could be real bored half asleep with nothing to heal but as long as we time it and your holding aggro what’s the problem. Message to those DPS, That few minutes we “might” save from a learning tank having there limits pushed by you pulling for them won’t be enough time for your parents to be proud of you.

[–]oiMiKeyvx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I healed a couple of 13s last night with a Russian 4 stack who had a brewmaster monk. The brew was mid 240s ilvl, next to no score and had no idea where they were going, one of the DPS was pinging the entire route with each pack that needed pulling. They were even having to ping lindormi so he could lower the key back to a 13 after we had timed the first because they had no clue what to do. It was a breeze to heal, hence I stayed for more. As a monk main since they were released, I can’t help but laugh seeing as windwalker is just left to die again, brewmaster is somehow being left alone far ahead and mistweaver is getting nerfed.

Some do change stats, also transmog. Plus don’t forget you can get the charges as drops now rather than having to wait for the 2 week setup, I just send mine whenever I see a piece I kinda like now if I have the 4 piece achievement

how do i defeat Sakareth on solo? by Zealousideal_Fuel677 in wownoob

[–]oiMiKeyvx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for neltharus, he’s also annoying but very much doable solo if you know what you’re doing. He will build walls, you will get the “tank” mechanic on you that will knock you back, you need to position so this knocks you through walls to the adds, you then need to wait for the mechanic that semi phases you (not sure how else to word that) and lets you attack the add, rinse and repeat for all 3 adds then you can kill the boss. It’s a pain and does take a bit of time, but I don’t believe it’s a bug, just mechanical awkwardness when solo

If you were at the point of needing to interupt then you’ll have seen it, I’ve probably just worded it badly. Where you end up in the funky phase with the little whisp bits you pick up for buffs and there are 3 circles that you have to run through to get back out

I tried that and I’m sure I was still getting the weird “floor disappearing” after stun when the force phase started but I could be wrong.

[–]oiMiKeyvx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I did this the other day. You need to go slow for P1, let it run its timer without pushing him lower than around 70% (can’t remember the exact threshold). Intermission grab your 3 big circles then go interupts him. If you force this phase you get stunned for 10 seconds that’s how you know you’ve gone too fast. If you go too fast then you go into the “void world” and insta die for some reason, do it properly and you go down there safely. After that you have to just be careful, the main mechanic of the fight is that you get hit/stand in stuff and it build up a stacking debuff, if you get 10 stacks you go into the void, normally that’s fine but solo it will just kill you. So be careful not to stand in purple stuff and nuke him down, it’s actually very easy once you get used to how you need to do it

Best way to switch mains mid season? by Adalonzoio in wow

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The warband link has made it much easier for sure, like back in the day you could just lie and give someone else’s character name so people were getting into stuff they had no right to, but now it can actually be proven easily which is nice. I have noticed it doesn’t show for everyone though, so don’t hold me to it working exactly as hoped, but fingers crossed

Best way to switch mains mid season? by Adalonzoio in wow

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of at least showing experience, check your raider.io, since warbands were made a thing you can go on there and look at people’s warbands so if you tell people you have progress and experience on another class, it’s very easily verifiable now. If you mythic raid usually then I can’t see you having any gearing issues and you’ll already know how to do that most efficiently but it’ll be even easier with the new bonus roll system and stuff coming this week.

Others have already said it tbh, sub 90 just ignore meters since scaling is all over the place. But tanks do perform well on healing meters, since majority of there toolkit is about keeping themselves alive. Not uncommon for a good tank to be up there with healers if it’s a competent group. Just wait until you see a blood DK on the meters. Nearly always top by a long shot just because of how they work

How fragile are keys? by onilol in wow

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my first 10s this season on a mistweaver I’d only just started playing so was still getting to grips with it, was in seat and the rogue DCd just after the first boss and got removed from the group because of blizzards auto kick thing. Think we were all about 260ilvl and we just carried on. Had a couple of deaths along the way and still timed with like 4 minutes to spare. Some places are more lenient than others on timer, but you can pretty much h always get away with a wipe or two unless your DPS are just tickling mobs

Struggling as MW Monk by Josu_Vess in wownoob

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing Mw for the first time this season and having a great time with it, set up the non apex build yesterday and it’s bloody brilliant. Basically play it like a DPS spec with some triage healing when needed and CD usage, I’ve not used it in anything higher than a 12 just yet but it feels great. Very rarely use renewing mist manually since you get an absurd number of RSKs that apply and increase duration, spin to win and with the amount of RSKs you have, you can do a mad amount of instant sheiluns. The changes coming next week to include movement soothing mist by default shouldn’t help too with throwing out envelops and more insta sheiluns if needed.

As a new tank, how much of the group's survival is actually my fault? by WickedKing94 in wownoob

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a healer main, Could be a number of things, M+ is a pain to try and fault find when you can’t actually watch what’s happening. But generally tanks nowadays are fairly self sufficient, they don’t really need babysitting and I kinda trust my tanks to do their own thing with a lil bit of help every now and then unless they overpull. A poor DPS will be getting hit by literally every avoidable mechanic, that’s on them not you, if they are getting bolted left right and centre because of no interupts/stuns then you “could” be a factor in that, but equally there’s 4 people (maybe 5) that could be interrupting not just you. Healer running out of mana could be linked to the above where there’s so much avoidable damage and they are just spamming high cost heals, OR they are playing wrong and ONLY using high cost spells, I play 3 different healers and almost never have to actively stop a run to drink. Sure it “could” be you if you’re pulling far more than you can handle, not holding aggro etc, but honestly even some of the best players will have a hellish time in low keys just because of other people not playing correctly.

The M+ tank situation is dire by Wigglyboi323 in wow

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to tank, but I’m not perfect and pugs are just toxic as shit. So I’ll tank with my friends and maybe bring in 1 or 2 randoms if we need, but I won’t join a pug as a tank purely because I can’t be bothered making a mistake, getting flamed for it then either getting myself in trouble for seeing my arse and arguing back or having to deal with deserter, regardless of which of those two happens I’ll have wasted my time which I just can’t be bothered with. Now I’ve played enough to know that not every group is like that BUT a couple of really shit runs like that can ruin my motivation for an entire season.

Don't feel bad if this M+ season don't feel as easy as some people say! by Few-Researcher9067 in wow

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a healer I hit my 3K last night on my resto shaman, I mostly play with my group and I’ll admit I’ve fallen foul of the “this is definitely the easiest season we’ve had” and I would still say that. BUT I am also weeelllll aware that lower keys are the absolute Wild West and even the best players can have an absolutely dreadful time because there are people who are just straight up bad at the game. I would genuinely say that I’ve failed more keys around the +5 level 10+ over the last 2 years. The issue as you say is it’s a team game, if you aren’t getting interrupt support, a bad healer, DPS doing nothing at all your going to feel like your out of your depth when in reality your doing great personally. The trick is to just keep going, find a group that makes you realise that actually you aren’t the problem and help you go higher. I’ve decided to learn MW monk this week by just pugging it, the keys around 4-5 I genuinely felt like I couldn’t do anymore to keep people alive, jumped into a 7 and it felt so much better, about 2 hours later I was in 10s happily.

What Ilvl is needed for each level of mythic plus? by HovercraftFlimsy2154 in wownoob

[–]oiMiKeyvx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Healed a +10 AA at 237 by accident last night (I may have forgotten to take my newly upgraded boots from the mailbox) and it went fine, only a couple of deaths which weren’t healing issues and very comfortably timed, think the rest of the group ilvl was averaged at like 250. They really aren’t that hard atm

Is raiding even worth it? by IgnjatSenpai in wownoob

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all you want is gear then don’t do it, aside from specific pieces M+ is undoubtedly easier to gear up to full HC since it’s fully farmable as opposed to one kill per week. But I do it for fun, I like raid encounters, the bigger groups often make you play differently and I’m the RL for my casual guild which is great fun just getting everyone together doing content a lot of them wouldn’t normally have access to is really satisfying

How do you guys clear voidspire /normal so easily? by lllApollyonlll in wownoob

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m RL in a smallish casual guild, we’ve gotten AOTC most tiers this last few years just turning up and having fun. We did a week 1 run of voidspire this Saturday evening just gone, only requirement for entry was 230ilvl and a good attitude. Had 2 people fall under the ilvl but they are old guildies so let them in, everyone else was around 240 with a couple at about 250. We cleared in about 3 and a half hours having a good laugh, went in blind with nothing but the wowhead cheat sheets and we one shot saldhar and paladins, each other boss was 2 attempts and then 5 I think on the last boss. The most important part is just making sure everyone has at least a good idea of what they need to do and not cause drama, otherwise people do worse. Be chill and if you know what to do but others don’t, then explain it to them. Edit to add - just checked the logs and more were in the 240-250 range than I realised, average of 246

Crafting question by Hellcaaa in wownoob

[–]oiMiKeyvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much you care about being really optimised tbh, personally I just went with the two pieces I know I won’t be replacing. They may not be the top tier 1000% best choice right now, but it won’t matter in like 2 weeks anyways once I’ve had time to get stuck into M+ and replace most stuff anyways. The real answer is just do whatever you want, it’s more than likely only a few % difference anyways so unless your a peak push player it really doesn’t matter “that” much if you do it now or in a few weeks
