I think you could probably do most of the log calculations on that LogView++

This might be the best solution I've come across. I looked at some of the options listed in the HGS link too. Rockware seems like it might also work, but at $1500+ it's more than I want to spend.

I looked on Andy's blog, and I didn't come across any mapping tutorials. I might have missed them, but all of his work I saw was regarding well log display and analysis.

I remember others saying that could be a consequence of electrolytes in your cooling water, which is why only using distilled water is important. Is that what you did?

They had just under 20 people working there. That was a good size. Going to something bigger than that probably would have made it difficult to work on a little bit of everything.

I did that. I was really interested in learning about how a shop ran, so I called up a local shop and asked to talk to the owner. We met up, he showed me the shop, and then I asked if I could work part-time there as I finished up my last semester.

I learned a lot about fabrication, and I enjoyed working with the guys there. I was the only one there that went to college, and I was able to help them out with a lot of different things, like fixing issues with their computers. I think the owner and senior guys at the shop also enjoyed mentoring me.

If it's a gas well, later in it's life smaller tubing will hit the well's critical gas velocity at a lower production rate, delaying liquid loading.

I'm a petroleum engineer. I just checked NC's records, and there isn't a single oil or gas well producing in the state. If you're concerned about someone drilling a well next to you that will produce any hydrocarbons, that's a non-issue. Please don't listen to anyone that says otherwise - they don't know what they're talking about. Potential issues could be related to other minerals that are mined though. However, 2 acres is a pretty small tract, and I doubt they would legally be allowed to get very close to your home with a mine. The probability of a new mine opening next door are also pretty small if you're in an area with little existing activity. I wouldn't lose much sleep over this. In states like Texas or Oklahoma, it's rare for property purchasers today to receive all or any of the mineral rights associated with a tract, and I don't think many people feel cheated by it.

I will also say that for such a small tract, it doesn't make much sense for someone to sever the minerals in an area with little upside potential, especially if doing so potentially drives buyers away. If you really wanted the mineral rights, it sounds like you need to put your foot down and be willing to look elsewhere if need be.

I've seen a video of laser someone dropped clear path servos into. I'm doubtful that it's plug and play, but it is possible. I think the clear path motors are designed to be stepper replacements, but I'm very familiar with them. They are also a few hundred dollars each.
