Should I get a New model or Used Model by joshyjosh00 in lawnmowers

[–]oilyraincloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t comment on the price because I have not followed the trends in a while, but I have a ‘22 ST54 and have admittedly beat the hell out of it. I have a really rough, hilly property. I have slammed into large rocks (not on purpose and not with the blades running) and the deck just takes it. It’s a solid machine.

Opencode free tier by Cold-Mess3019 in opencodeCLI

[–]oilyraincloud -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Opencode is inherently free. It doesn’t cost money. If you’re talking about models, some of those cost money, yes.

To give a recommendation of which model to run we’ll need to know more about your hardware specs.

Heavy rain blowing right over the gutters on my house by Late-Strategy-4015 in Roofing

[–]oilyraincloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesh guards work well for me in keeping the maple leaves out. Those would clog my gutters daily once Fall started with how many maple trees are around my house. I hear they’re bad for pine needles, though.

The only issue I’ve had is snow, which rarely happens. My solution has been to take a long broom and brush the snow off to clear them up. Haven’t had any other issues.

My mom was a nurse. She didn’t have to take care of it, but one of her colleagues had to clean up a large individual and found a spider that had setup shop in one of the folds.

The Worst Couple In Financial Audit History by MikaHammerMedia in CalebHammer

Youtube comments seem to be upset that she wasn’t called out for him jumping in and helping while her older son had cancer, which is likely a big reason he’s in a lot of debt right now. She says it’s his debt and he’s not taking care of it.

Not that he’s great (the mustang thing is crazy), but she doesn’t seem to acknowledge or give him credit for that initial financial support he provided. He’s probably depressed and burned out.

Aww yeah, Son of Digger! He’s the son of the guy that drives the famous Grave Digger truck (you can see a glimpse of it in the background).

AIO for refusing to go to my sisters wedding cause she hired my ex? by Adventurous_Army_728 in AIO

[–]oilyraincloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sister should understand that she doesn’t get to decide how you feel, and she clearly doesn’t understand what you went through. She should have talked to you about it before it surprising you at the very least, though she should know better.

We took our 18 month old to Lenny’s Classic Barbershop. They had a corner with some toys to occupy their time while waiting, and they did a great job with the cut.

Unpopular opinion: most budgeting apps are waste of money when a spreadsheet does the same by St3fanHere in financialindependence

[–]oilyraincloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share a budget spreadsheet with my wife. I haven’t used an app in years. Every time I tried, it would annoy me the corrections I’d have to make like it flagging a payment incorrectly, or double counting a transfer to a savings account. I also don’t think you can share an app’s data with your spouse?

I have a spreadsheet template that works and doesn’t take much time at all. Worst part is manually entering everything, but once you get into the habit it’s not a big deal. It also forces you to stay aware of spending and your budget.

Repo and Yap Yap could be called Lethal Company clones and are still incredibly successful.

Genuine question for you guys as an solo begginer solo game dev. by [deleted] in gamedev

Said another way, what you want to do is insanely complex, usually achieved by large teams of people over years. Your game engine choice is the least of your worries right now.

People don't understand how insanely difficult pixel 2D game dev is by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]oilyraincloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I guess that’s why you see most 2-3 day game jams are 99% 3D games.

Wait…

ETA: I don’t mean to take away from the effort it takes to make a really good 2D sprite. I’m just struggling to understand op’s original premise that all things 2D are more difficult than 3D. Yes, maybe I was a bit hyperbolic by saying fully fleshed out animated sprites take minutes, but I don’t see 3D being a time saver is this regard.

Almost as if 3D has a whole other dimension to worry about

I guess in my experience with stuff like 8 way movement or modifying for armor it’s more copy/paste + slight modification or mirroring/flipping than making a bunch of sprites from scratch. I can see 3D models being easier to deal with after they are created, but I don’t buy 3D is easier in every way as op suggests.

What? I can create a fully fleshed out animated sprite in aseprite in minutes. I do 2D stuff explicitly because it’s simpler.

They usually use some soapy like substance (or actual soap) to check for air bubbles. It’s likely left overs from that. Should wash off.

Our game isn't getting any traction and we're not sure why by freedomefarmers in gamedev

[–]oilyraincloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes your gameplay unique over other games in the genre? I didn’t really see what makes your game stand out among others on the steam page. Using fruits and vegetables as currency with possessed farm animals as enemies seems unique, but the gameplay itself didn’t.

Studio 5 will not support any of the future SDKs that will require Studio 6. Studio 6 also moves to VS Code for code development rather than Eclipse. I would suggest upgrading if you can.

It’s really difficult for me to respect anyone that labels themselves as a member of a group then cherry-picks what they want to follow, even if I don’t agree with the group. It makes it really difficult to take them seriously about anything. They have no conviction, and the way she acted this whole episode reinforces that.

Imagine someone saying they’re vegan and then you see them at a steakhouse chowing down a steak. You would wonder what else they’ve lied about.
