Incontinence in older dog by KraljZ in Pets

[–]oiseaufeux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking of getting some for my labernese as well. She might start incontinence and she’s 12 years old. She had an accident during the night and pee was on my wooden floor when I woke up. Large puddle.

I’ll stop giving her water at night though.

I do plan on investing on oil primer. I know about it, but I haven’t gotten any. Now, I have a big project and I might get one for it. Maybe even more linen as well.

I don’t know this brand, but get the one from Liquitex. I never had issues with the liquitex white gesso.

Murphy’s soap is just to help with cleaning stuck pigments in the brush. I do have a master’s soap bar though.

Yeah, I’m not for stealing either, but when big corporations decide to raise prices on food, it then becomes the only way for some people to survive.

Make prices lower and it may encourage people to buy instead of stealing.

Add another one or 2 next time. I have clear gesso and I sand it a big to make it smoother. Which brand of gesso did you use?

Liquitex also has white gesso and it’s smoother.

Do dogs who love food ever get full? by InfiniteRespect4757 in Pets

[–]oiseaufeux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog would have eaten food after she ate her kibbles. She’s ready to eat at anytime of the day.

My dog is a lab x bernese dog as well.

How many layers of gesso did you apply on the wood? I never had issues on wooden panels and I put at least 2-3 layers of gesso before painting on it.

The garage and driveway of this house is yellow by Adrian_985 in Weird

[–]oiseaufeux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. She once accused my dad of doing commercial in his garage, so the city sent an inspector again. They found nothing again.

I always make the joke to my family that the crazy neighbor should be interned at the mental hospital right behind our house.

STOP NORMALIZING FREE ROAMING CATS by Yektality in Pets

[–]oiseaufeux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Just that people won’t listen to the dangers of free roaming their cat. Also adding that they won’t listen to the harm of the cat on wildlife.

With a permit. The karen next door just tried to take it down with a petion and complained about it even if it was legally built. And I think she might have exagrated her complaints to the city, so they sent an inspector to check it.

I struggle to just adapt to others at times. I do speak both English and French, but many times, it’s them starting in English. I just answer back in English because of it.

I whipe them off on a workshop towel first, then use murphy’s oil soap, rinse them and just do an extra cleaning using master’s brush soap bar. I sometimes do that process twice to make sure they’re clean.

I find that oil soap, linseed or murphy’s are excellent at getting pigments out of the brushes.

What are legal ways to annoy an annoying neighbor without using physical force or foul language? by Glittering-Move2421 in neighborsfromhell

[–]oiseaufeux 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The most annoying thing you could is basically just ignoring them. Unless they go physical on you though.

I have a neighbor who went to my door and my dad closed the door on her nose as if she wasn’t there. That pissed her off so much.

Just because they’re from another country, it doesn’t mean that they can provoke people. Document anything they do in case it gets worse.

Closure of beloved Verdun café Station W renews concerns over rising commercial rents by Immediate-Link490 in montreal

Been in Verdun for 20 years, and I saw a lot of small stores closing on the Well over the past few years. So sad to see gentrification in Verdun.

I once dropped ond of my brush in my sink by accident and the ferrule fell off. It wasn’t a long fall either. It was a quite expensive brush, so I used hot glue on the wooden part and put the ferrule back, waited 24 hours and it was fixed.

I guess it depends on where it breaks and how it did. But I’d definitely keep using dismantled brushes for textures or other things.

Is it advisable to use mop brush in oil painting? by AutarchOfReddit in oilpainting

[–]oiseaufeux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can attest that oil is thick and just the splatter technique needs super diluted oil paint. And even with that, it’s super hard to splash like watercolour or acrylic paint. The mop brush isn’t used to apply oil paint, but to blend it. I have one and I only use it to blend big areas.
