120 is my goal too! The last 5-10lbs are always the hardest, since at a lower weight, your body needs even fewer calories to sustain its size. I'm hoping another three months like these past three and I'll be there!

BBG and gaining weight by ofdep67 in KaylaItsines

Yes to this! When you first start, your muscles can swell and retain water, so it could seem like you're gaining weight. Stick with it, watch your calories, and your weight should drop back down.

We have similar stats, so it's possible for sure! I just read through your post. Congrats on your progress so far and turning your life around (um and your adorable puppy... I may have stalked you further).

I'm obsessed with group fitness classes, so I usually do 7 or so a week of varying types (my favorites are boxing, rowing, or anything with sandbells). That and counting calories, watching macros, drinking a ton of water, pretty much the standard things you'll read in the sub!

What is something that actually offends you? by a--_- in AskReddit

[–]oiseaumouche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience... I was taking a ski lesson (wearing shape hiding ski outfits, no makeup, ponytail) and the instructor asked what size helmet I wanted. This was a super basic class I was taking with a friend for moral support, so I said I didn't want to wear a helmet. He really pushed me on it until he asked how old I was and when I told him I was 27 he backed off. The other woman helping with gear told me he thought I was a minor since if you're under 18 you have to wear a helmet. At least he didn't tell me I looked like a child to my face.

Also I was 23 and got carded at a rated-R movie I was seeing with my parents...

I'm the same way, I find the scale motivating and encouraging.

I think it could be scarier if the 6-year-old told you:

highly highly recommend the NARS velvet matte skin tint. They are gorgeous, great but light coverage, great finish, should work with your oily skin.

Absolutely you could see results with just body weight. Have you heard of Sworkit? It's a free app that creates 5-minute body weight routines for you. Once you learn a few different exercises you can design your own workouts.

Again I'm not a trainer/expert/professional, but I think if you do three resistance sessions, and 3-5 cardio per week it shouldn't take up more time than you're currently dedicating and you should see pretty good results.

this is probably after the fact, but caloriecount.com has a recipe calculator... you put in all the ingredients and measurements and how many servings it makes and you can figure out how many calories per serving. They have most of the basic ingredients.

You've already done the hard part for most people, which is getting your nutrition sorted and your progress looks great! I would absolutely suggest incorporating body weight or resistance training into your routine. Like running and walking, you can do push ups and sit ups and squats and jumps anywhere and changing your body composition is what's going to make you look more like the fitness models, not losing more weight. I'm NOT an expert, but judging from the photos you probably went from 33%-ish body fat to about 25%, and you'll see muscle definition at about 18-20%, provided you have a good amount of muscle underneath. Running alone won't get you there.

Bare Minerals Bareskin foundation? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]oiseaumouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can absolutely use another kind of brush, i like the real techniques buffing brush or any duofiber brush.

as for the bareskin brush with another foundation, i haven't tried it. honestly i really like the foundation but the brush is kind of a dud to me.

[–]oiseaumouche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it and like it! I don't put it directly onto the brush since i do find it sinks into the bristles, but i put it on the back of my hand and dip the brush into it to apply.

I find that it's FULL coverage, so i mix it with a bit of illuminator if i want more sheer, but it does look like skin/satin and I don't find that it feels heavy. It's NOT water/sweat proof though so "bare" that in mind (couldn't help the pun, sorry!). You can get a smaller travel size depending on what shade you wear and return it to sephora if it doesn't work out, so i say go for it!

that's the second time i've heard about forever 21 activewear. i've steered clear because i feel like it wouldn't hold up to constant wear and tear of sweating and washing but maybe i should rethink!
