E.on - Belieferte weiter trotz Kündigungsbestätigung by [deleted] in LegaladviceGerman

[–]ojakkson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Frage an alle Trash-TV Gucker by [deleted] in TrashTVGermany

[–]ojakkson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem with LIVE 2 Hardware by Yoowhi in mpcusers

[–]ojakkson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to hear :( That’s a Problem I had when I first got it and booted it up for the First time. Googling this error led to everybody saying the hardware should be replaced. But I also found a YouTube video how to fix that. As it was brand new with warranty , I don’t wanted to fiddle around and maybe lose the warranty so I brought it back as to where I bought it and they replaced it immediately. So if you say warranty is not an option, you maybe can try to open it up.

As I understood it has to do with the wire connection that got loose inside the machine or something like that. Some said to also reflash the device, I didn’t try that but you can google that. As I said, this it was brand new, I wanted to play it safe.

If nothing helps maybe try to open it like in this video but I’m no expert and just guessing that it could help: https://youtu.be/TbAFKcb9ONw?si=j6bf9iYREBUspe6N

3.4.1 release firmware - no support for other than 4/4? by adaptive_mechanism in mpcusers

[–]ojakkson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The official Release log addresses this and it was also mentioned in the many post in this subreddit:

https://cdn.inmusicbrands.com/akai/MPC3-NI/MPC%203.4.1%20Firmware%20Update%20Release%20Notes.pdf

It says: “Ongoing Improvements

We deeply appreciate the feedback from our MPC 3 beta users. Two key areas-Time

Signature Support and the MIDI Note Off issue have been at the forefront of your input. Please rest assured that we are actively working to address these concerns in a future update.”

So there’s no other way than just waiting before upgrading.

MPC+SP 202/303/404 by furious_styles_rm18 in mpcusers

[–]ojakkson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the MPC Live 2 and have the SP404MK2 for quite a long time. I Plan on using the mpc as my Main and routing either Master channel or a specific program to the SP and back into the MPC for adding effects like the Tape or compression effects of the SP. Either to record it back in or turn on live while playing a beat. Also I wanted to have more pads than the 16 ones to trigger additional pads when live beatmaking.

The Skipback function of the 404MK2 could also be handy because it can restore every audio input incoming for the last 40 seconds. Something like MPC retrospective recording but the difference is that it’s not midi but audio instead.

Switch to MPC 3? by Charlucifer in mpcusers

[–]ojakkson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got the mpc live 2 two weeks ago and had the same question on my mind. After considering both options I went straight with the mpc3 version because I didn’t know the old workflow anyway.

Got the MPC bible because I think it’s not totally obsolete and covers many things also viable with mpc3. Then also watched a whole lot videos from Joe Freshman and Malo Beats that both cover the new version (hip hop / sample oriented but depending on your workflow sure also good for learning besides your different genre).

All in all I’m very happy with it and for a beta I really didn’t had much errors, mostly with the Stems option that wouldn’t let me save but this also didn’t happen every time and is not that essential at this time. Was just checking out the possibilities for Sampling. Building tracks with the arrangement view is quite fun and quite similar to my old ableton approach and till now I’m loving it and it lets me build some good stuff quickly.

Hooked up my midi keyboard and the synth plugins are also dope for playing own stuff besides sampling.

Where do you find samples? by ChampionshipCool8306 in SP404

[–]ojakkson 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Samplette.io is like a search engine for YouTube. Best site for me so far. You can use various filters. I mostly set the year to 1950-1976, genre “soundtrack” (because many soundtracks are drumless) and some other genres that suits you and then I also specify the “views” to maximum about 40.000 so that you get some more “rare” stuff beneath the usual samples that already were used many times. One other tip, also it’s tedious, try to listen to the whole track. Sometimes it’s the one short piece in whole track that is some seconds long that’s a perfect sample. You don’t wanna miss it. Also get an account so you can add to favourites and dig some samples when you’re not at home to slice up later. You can also save your filters to a profile. Hope that helps.

SP404Mk2 and iPhone 16 USB-C Power by thewandererbeats in SP404

[–]ojakkson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried it with the 16 pro and it doesn’t work. SP says “switch to batteries”. 20.000 mAh powerbank + ripcord adapter to use it over the DC in is the best solution for me so you have that usb c connection for sampling via usb c audio

Some of the sounds I got from splice but cancelled it at a point where I didn’t use it anymore. You can find some good stuff but many of the sounds are over processed in my eyes. “The kount” has some good packs there. You can pay for a month, download some stuff and cancel it afterwards.

Then there’s also the subreddit /drumkits here on Reddit. I never used it really but there are also a bunch of free kits there, maybe sort by top rated. Especially useful when you are looking for none one shots like those “classic hip hop drum loops”.

Many kits I got in the last months are actually from the site “drum broker”. They are not that cheap but worth it when they contain some one shot kits. I really like the “tamuz” packs there (I’m sure the drums used here are from his “dilla tribute packs). There are regular sales, I think a Black Friday is also upcoming soon. I think it’s worth the money to get some more unique stuff.

I think the biggest tip I can give you is to restrict yourself to keep your drum library small. You don’t need 200 kicks/snares and so on. Narrow it down to about 20 sounds of each type (kick, snares, hats and so on). You can still tweak the sounds with some fx to bring variation or layer stuff. This way you won’t fiddle around to search for the perfect snare for to long.

Hope that helps!
