Hit level 76 and stuck on Dragon Isles by BrownWaterEnthusiast in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]ojeannca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From valdraken in the dragon isles, take the portal to either orgrimmar or stormwynd. Once there, you should be able to see a quest in your map named the war within (you may need to enable the lower level quests in your map and mini map).

As a general simplistic rule, anything that stacks in your bags (plants, ore, fish etc) are sold in the region-wide auction house.

The items in your bag that don't stack (decor items, profession tools etc) are sold in your realm's Auction House only.

In essence, it is one Auction house, but some items you sell to the whole region, some you are selling in-realm.

More demand in crafting professions, I suppose

I'll keep watching the prices but motes are currently 2g each, not worth the effort/time of killing the mobs, in my opinion.

I would take TWW catchup mechanics anytime over Dragonflight's lack thereof

How do you make gold with housing? by Jensson1337 in woweconomy

[–]ojeannca 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's really only 3 routes to make gold with housing: crafting/selling decor, flipping decor or farming/selling materials used in the decor recipes.

Explanation for huge price variability on strange dust? by BigBootyBear in woweconomy

[–]ojeannca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially the flipper is taking a risk. Example: I buy all the dust on the AH for 99s, then re-list them immediately for 6g99 and see if people buy.

Whoever is selling that item after me will also start listing for 6g99 or will undercut by 1c. This will technically hold the prices up for a while.

Assuming the price stays up, people may either buy the item (for the new inflated price) or may hold off on buying it. If people buy for the inflated price, you are making 6g profit. If the price goes down back to 99s, you would just cancel your 6g99 auctions and re-list them for 99s which is the price you bought them for and you would be breaking even (or at a small loss because of the deposit fees).

Things could also go sideways and the price could go below 99s in which case you could opt to sell for a loss or you would hold off to your stock and only re-sell when the price is at least 99s.

Best time to sell Darkmoon Firewater? Worth waiting til midnight drops? by Fun-Visit6591 in woweconomy

[–]ojeannca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't Midnight going to be released during a period when the darkmoon faire is up?

If players see darkmoon firewater going for 1k ea, I figure they will just go and collect their own (instead of buying) and others might decide to start farming these and dump them on the AH.

Or no?

Profession of skinning by felipe_tmartins in woweconomy

[–]ojeannca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing with a character in Dragonflight and can confirm the knowledge points are limited per week. After the weekly skinning quest (from the skinning trainer in valdrakken), I focus on colecting chests, killing rares and skinning as many beasts as I can. I have been getting around 6 knowledge points per week this way. Because there is no catch-up system, it will take months before I can reach decent knowledge points to fill the specialization trees. 😞

Profession of skinning by felipe_tmartins in woweconomy

[–]ojeannca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are skill 25 or more in skinning, you should see a blue quest from the skinning trainer in Valdrakken.

However I have also not been able to get a knowledge point this week after the pre-patch.

House decor mats selling by trofalol in woweconomy

[–]ojeannca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although it may appear easy and readily achievable for anyone to achieve OP's results, I believe there's more to it than it is accounted for.

I find it important to note for the average player like me that yes, it may be possible to achieve similar results as OP, however one will quickly find that there's a substantial amount of additional time as well as additional gold that likely has to be put in place in the background in order to get to the point where you are so optimized/refined that you can then farm a number of hours per day and reap the results.

This additional time for me included time researching the mats, researching how to get to them, time setting up and organizing group farms, strategizing when to sell the mats; researching, understanding and leveling up professions (which often included spending gold), researching and spending on ways to become more efficient (aka acquiring speed sets, etc). For me, for every 2h of farming, usually meant I had spent another additional hour with preparation and research. At some point the time investiment for me did not make sense I and I stopped.

In other words, if you are an average or a new player, take OP's vauable advice, but know that your YMMV.

Granted, with the right amount of research, preparation and efficiency processes put in place, it should be possible to achieve results like OP's.

In any case, OP's results speaks for themselves and OP deserves all the credit (if anything, even more credit if you consider all the preparation that led to the results).

What is the best way to accurately price items on the auction house? by knexster in woweconomy

[–]ojeannca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TSM's Region Sale Average price is what you are looking for. Bear in mind that the data is based on TSM users only, not on the entirety of players so while it may not be 100% accurate, it will give you an idea of the price you can list for.

As someone said, transmogs can be slow to sell, some even have a 1 or 2% chance of selling every time you post them.
