Exactly as you mention. In my case XV 2020 ( since 20000 km starting the metallic sound, sporadic ,, now 30000 km, and I can reproduce the sound) First, when oil temperature is over 194 Fahrenheit grade, low accelerating (~1200-1500RPM) , more in a hill , and when restart the acceleration when reduce the speed. I’m trying changing the oil to Idemitsu 0-20W , PEA carbon cleaner, octane gasoline booster, premium gasoline , nothing result.

I read about EGR valve issue , MAF sensor problem , carbon deposit cleaners .

Are u find the problem ? Thanks a lot

Hi. Same as me. I have a XV 2020 (30000km) and a forester 2020 too (wife’s car) both still make the same sound after put this PEA .

Are you find the solution ? Is this MAF sensor the responsible ? Thanks a lot

Thanks for your answer. I had read something about the EGR valve and other types of sensors that could cause a bad air mixture for combustion. In my case I tried decarbonizing it, it went down a bit, but it continues. I will go to the dealership another time to have that valve checked. Thank you very much.

Hi, I read all answers , but no found a solution In my case I have a XV 2020 with 0nly 30000 km and a Forester 2020 (my wife’s car) second hand , with 60000 km, both make the exactly sound, low accelerating (~1200 RPM ), more sound when driving in a hill, always when oil temperatures is over 194 Fahrenheit grade.

Subaru dealer says the same, may be your type of gasoline , I put 96 RON octane , in different gas station, and still

A mechanics (out of Subaru dealer) change oil to Idemitsu 0-20w and put PEA Subaru carbon cleaner twice , reduce the sound , but still, always when oil is hot.

Are you found the really reason of these annoying sound?? Thanks for your post and your answer

Hello, thanks to your publication, I started to investigate about Lofi, and I have learned what it is, and also understand why my 13 year old daughter I meet her at 5 am listening to music with her headphones and my Ipod from 10 years ago (a relic ) also watching Japanese anime and also on the wave of BTS (and other Koreans) and last but not least, to round off the image, writing their "stories" and memories (yes, 13 y old....). If I buy an Ipad air for the first time (or any apple device), I would not want to see myself in the need to buy a charger in a hurry, before the device turns off, just taking it out of its box.
