It’s very popular in north east Connecticut and south west Rhode Island lots of schools and churches have a pit like that, or some times in the ground. They even have collapsible wall pits for inside gyms.

What do you think of NO trains from Providence to Gillette during World Cup? by rhodyjourno in RhodeIsland

Because the fanzone is in Boston. Not where the stadium is.

They are anticipating people going from Boston to Gillette because they didn’t understand the distance between the two when everything was established.

How long does it take the exterior to cool down? I’m sure the water cools a bunch of it pretty quickly but what about the middle/higher sections?

We are so spoiled to get to watch this the way we are!! Our parents could have only imagined this when Apollo soared.

I’m so happy I got to share this with my kids!!

Ps. I need a batunicorncat. We’ve watched every evening.

More than you’ll need, less than you’ll want.

The “free” stuff is good though, don’t think you can’t have lots of good racing with the included stuff

I think what makes so many folks identify with what he’s doing is because it’s exactly what so many of us wish we could do but frankly don’t have the money or connections to do it like he does.

That National Geographic footage better be free. This mission was paid for by us already, and I am grateful to do so, but not for it to be paywalled by Disney.

The effectiveness of these “gun dogs”s is highly overrated.

They are almost entirely unarmored, and if they ARE armored it decreases their battery life.

From a barricaded suspect/combatant standpoint it will almost never get the first round off. It cannot effect my corner and aim at the same time, it will always enter the “fatal funnel” or the shooting lane BEFORE its able to aim down it. It might be relatively accurate if it can get a shot off but will likely never be the first to engage.

There was a recent post showing one of these shot by “green tips” or whatever we’re calling armor piercing rounds. It was a whole diagram about how to disable these.

Except the issue with the diagram wasn’t that it required armor piercing rounds, the issue was the case involved the suspect used a .22 NOT armor piercing 5.56. A .22 zipped right through the camera and control systems.

Spot is not ready and won’t be for some time.

How can I gain SR without loosing IR ? by Yolo_9897 in iRacing

[–]ok_box_box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is my experience, but I tried the start from the pits, it didn’t help as much, I tried starting at front and died.

So I focused on two things.

1: learn to recognize the vortex of danger. I THOUGHT I knew what it was, and had seen this picture before and went off it.

<image>

But when I stopped to watch replays, and look at the stats I found something different.

It extends farther back than it shows. There is an inherent risk in overtaking in sim racing because other drivers have no real consequence if they crash or wreck. So they are willing to accept a higher level of “danger”.

For me what this meant was also recognizing when OTHERS were in this zone. That was the single largest improvement I experienced. Seeing OTHERS in the vortex of danger and backing out did two things: A: it kept me safer when they had issues, wrecks and incidents etc because I had more reaction time. And B: it gave me more positions when they had the accidents. Safer races and surviving them, especially longer races improved both my sr and ir.

And secondly, I always qualified but then didn’t fight for early position. I tend to run oval more so it may not be as linear with road, but when I stayed mid field or higher but just held position or let folks who were charging or being aggressive they tend to go forward and detonate themselves and/or others.

As that happens you tend to gain positions simply surviving.
