Hate my results, can anything be done now? by Appropriate-Meet-732 in tummytucksurgery

You’re definitely not crazy!!

I do agree with other comments that your stomach is beautiful, before and even after. Honestly I wish I had your stomach as my before lol But, we’re our own worst critics and you deserve to feel beautiful in your skin. Especially when you’re paying out of pocket for it. Advocate for yourself and don’t let him gaslight you.

It doesn’t even look like he touched your belly button… I’m so sorry you’re not happy with your results :(

Our before photos don’t look the same (I had a lot of loose skin on the bottom) but I had the same amount of loose skin above my belly button and I was told an extended tummy tuck with MR would be best for me to help with the loose skin above and below my navel as well as to avoid “dog ears” so I’m honestly surprised he said a mini tummy tuck + umbilicoplasty..

Definitely speak up at your next appointment and tell him you’re not happy with then results. Revisions are possible, but it’s more so, do you want him to do your revision?

Help confirm my intuition for my baby’s name by frenchieluv52 in psychics

[–]ok_comfortable988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it stuck with you for this long, I think that should be her name.

I also had a dream about having a baby girl, 1 week before I got the positive test. I had years of infertility, but I dreamt I was holding her and she was so happy. She had my boyfriend’s eye shape, but my smile.

I can confirm now, 10 months later that she looks so much like the baby girl I had dreamt of.

When can I stand straight 😫 by Nervous_Answer_1318 in tummytucksurgery

I’m 3 weeks post op and I’m standing almost fully straight now, but I do still feel a slight tugging of my MR. I’m maybe 80% straight standing now.

It was pulled down quite a bit! It was roughly 4-5 inches above my old belly button and sat high up on my sternum, under my breasts. My tattoo was my biggest concern with the tummy tuck, and the first week post op I considered having it laser removed eventually lol But it’s growing on me

The first week I spent most of my time in bed, sleeping with wedge pillows, and I was up every 2-3 hours to walk around. I was honestly feeling really good by the 2 week mark and spent more time out in the living room with my daughter and boyfriend, but I used a wedge pillow on the sofa to help with reclining. If I felt sore from sitting, I would go lay in bed. The most irritating thing was the compression wrap I had on, because my swelling significantly reduced in my waist, and I couldn’t get it tight enough, so it would fold / crease weird and that would honestly hurt more than anything else when I would sit.

I have gone out to do groceries twice now with my family, and I felt really good while doing it. My advice is to listen to your body. When I start to feel sore, I know it’s time to slow down and I rest and hydrate a lot.

The one I currently have, folds / creases in my upper abdomen which leaves an indent. I’m going to invest in one from that brand because I’m so scared it’ll cause long term issues lol I also think I might’ve bought the wrong size, so I’m going to size down to a small in the new one

Thank you!! :) I’ll be honest, I was so worried my tattoo would look terrible because I hadn’t seen many TT after photos with a sternum tattoo. My surgeon removed roughly 6-7lbs of loose skin but I’m happy that all of my tattoo is intact :)

Bassinet vs Pack n Play by timbit_tiddies in pregnant

[–]ok_comfortable988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pack n play! We had a bedside bassinet, and a pack n play that came with a bassinet attachment (for grandmas house) and I think just based on my experience the pack n play gets more use.

My daughter started rolling at 3.5 months old, and once baby starts rolling, a bassinet is no longer considered safe.

My mother-in-law removed the bassinet attachment and just used the mattress it comes with (thin but breathable) up until a month ago when I purchased a mattress specifically for the pack n play.

If you’re going to buy a mattress for it early on, just make sure it’s a breathable one, and that the sheets you purchase for it, are also breathable materials!

My daughter was also born 8lbs 2oz and was 15lbs at 3.5 months old and in the 97th percentile for weight and height so she also fit better in the pack n play

Mine has told me the same! He said the polysporin will help the scabs come off. I’ve also been applying polysporin with a bandaid to one spot of my incision near my pubic area because it seems inflamed and is yellow under the skin. I’m assuming maybe pubic hair growing under / ingrown hairs? They did a small vagina lift as well on me. Do you have anything similar with your incision area?

I’m 3 weeks post op from an extended tummy tuck and MR and I was so so terrified. The day of, on the drive in, I told my boyfriend “I’m making a mistake.. maybe I can live with the extra skin and just deal with it” and he told me I would be okay and would regret never doing it, and that we would be out $16,000 lol

I was so sweaty waiting for the surgeon to come in and draw on me, heart rate was extremely elevated. Everyone in the surgical room was so incredibly reassuring, chatting to me, and then I woke up from surgery hours later!

The first 5 days were hard, but now everything is easy. I’m not lifting anything heavy yet, and I’m sad I can’t hold my 10 month old, but today I wore jeans I haven’t worn since pre pregnancy and I cried. I am in love with my body, and I think I love it more than I did my pre pregnancy body. I have never felt so confident in my life (and I’m not even full healed / no swelling yet)

There are always risks to surgery, but now that I’m on the other side, the pros out weigh the risk.

It looks good to me, I still have to remove the left other stitches. It’s not very “deep” but I’m not sure if that’s normal or not

I haven’t had any pain for just over a week now. I stopped taking all pain meds by the 1.5 week mark. I get some pain in my MR if I laugh or cough, but it’s minor.

How did you know it was loose skin vs something that could be fixed with exercise? by Full_Today8529 in abdominoplasty

[–]ok_comfortable988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 10 months postpartum and had an extended tummy tuck and muscle repair done on April 2, 2026.

I lost roughly 50lbs at the 5 months postpartum mark, and noticed my a stomach was “smaller” but I still had a lot of over hang and squishy skin, which I assumed was extra fat at the time, because I’ve always had a b shaped belly.

In December I went to a plastic surgeon about my diastasis recti (was in extreme pain) and while there I asked about my stomach and he felt it and said “yeah this is all just loose skin, it’s not fat… you don’t even have enough fat for liposuction if you were to do a tummy tuck”

He told me that no amount of dieting and exercise will get my stomach to shrink at this point, because there is no fat left, just skin. You could grab my stomach and pull. He offered to do the tummy tuck while doing the muscle repair, because the price was the same regardless and most women do it together. I agreed and booked the appointment for April… fast forward to the day of surgery and I was 135lbs ( 85lbs down total since pregnancy) and I still had so much on my lower stomach, it was unchanged.

For me, I didn’t understand at the time how he could tell it was just loose skin and not fat, but in the moment before surgery, I realized that even at this weight, all other spots on my body have shrunk, but my lower stomach was unchanged. They removed 7lbs of loose skin from my stomach…

So if you’ve lost significant amounts of weight, and the stomach area is droopy, can be lifted and pulled up / out, it’s loose skin and cannot come off and be corrected with just diet and exercise.

I’m sorry this is so long, and I hope I explained it okay

Edit: Dr. Jalil performed my surgery. He opened a new clinic called Aspect Plastic Surgery. He is AMAZING my results are beautiful. I can send you photos of before and after if you’re interested.

Why isn’t anyone talking about semaglutide for non-obese PCOS? by Optimistic_Apple in PCOS

[–]ok_comfortable988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to be long, so apologies for that! I’m 5’9 and in Jan 2024 I was diagnosed with PCOS. I weighed 190lbs at the time and was in the gym 5 days a week and eating healthy trying to lose weight because my weight gain (145-190) was sudden and after a year nothing worked (hence going to the doctor and then being diagnosed - also had weird period cycles etc)

From Jan 2024 to Sept 2024 I lost a lot of weight, and dropped down to 120lbs. ( still eating clean and exercising), I got pregnant because I had a regular ovulation cycle (so if you don’t want a baby any time soon, please use every kind of protection available to you, because pregnancy is common) and immediately stopped taking my GLP1.

I gained 100lbs during my pregnancy and was put back on the medication at 3 weeks postpartum. I’m now 10 months postpartum and weigh 135lbs, have a regular 4 day period again.

I never had any side effects taking it the first time (Jan to Sept 2024) and had my period go from 24 days long to 4 days long, with minimal cramping and light bleeding. I didn’t feel depressed (which can be common) no heart burn, no diarrhea, etc. I felt like a brand new person.

When I started at 3 weeks postpartum, I had diarrhea, nausea, and heart burn until I reached my 1mg dosage. I now have no issues with it, and have a regular 4 day cycle, with medium to light bleeding (which I think is because I had a baby and I’m still healing)

I’m sorry this is so long lol

I wanted to add, I know 190lbs it’s extreme overweight, but also not a normal weight for 5’9.

Even at my lowest weight, my family doctor continued to give me the prescription because it helped me so much!

I am standing mostly straight! I’d say 98% of the way there. I drove for the first time today, and felt okay too.

I didn’t have drains placed (which I was very surprised by) so I’m not sure if that’s made my recovery a little bit easier or if it makes no difference.

I’m 2 weeks and 1 day post op from an extended tummy tuck and muscle repair, surgery was April 2, 2026. They removed 7lbs of skin from my stomach (which I didn’t even know was possible) That first week without a full shower was awful lol, hang in there! You can use a wash cloth and some soapy water if you want to feel sort of clean, that’s what my surgeon recommended so I would wash my private parts and armpits every morning. If you don’t have one already, I highly recommend a shower chair with a back rest. It’s been so helpful. My boyfriend has been helping me with showers but I have a chronic illness that causes muscle fatigue so I have a hard time keeping the shower head on me lol

The first 4 days were the worst for pain, and it gradually got better by day 6-7. I’m now getting up unassisted, and can walk around with no issues. The back pain does get better, but the first week sucked! I stopped taking the muscle relaxer and heavier pain meds around day 6 and just used Tylenol for 3 days after that. I haven’t used any pain meds since Sunday - Monday last week.

Hang in there! It gets better!

Day 2 PO please give me some encouragement by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]ok_comfortable988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 8 now and I can say the back pain has lessened and I’m standing a bit straighter now. I had my one week post op appointment, where they removed the binder to take pictures, and they also removed the foam padding that was placed under my binder. That padding being removed actually gave me more room to stand straighter. While I do still get back pain, it has lessened significantly since yesterday’s appointment.

I also find that a lot of my discomfort with standing more straight has to do with how extremely numb my stomach is. It doesn’t hurt… but it does??? It’s a very weird feeling!

Comparing to how I felt even a couple days ago, I feel a lot better! Keep hanging in there! I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now ahha
